Was that 52% all for a better candidate or was it split?

Did people also not vote for a Republican controlled state Congress?

I know nothing about the candidates other that Scott but, for what it's worth, 48% voted for the Democratic candidate. As for the state legislature, how gerrymandered is Florida?

A massacre just occurred at an airport in Florida. Gov Scott needs to make a call to the federal government in case he needs some resources in the investigation of the shooting. Does he call the President? He calls Trump. The guy who does not have the authority to put any federal resources into play.

He decided to call the guy who can do nothing until Jan 20. Obviously he doesn't care about his state and any federal resources that may help with this tragedy.

Don't be obtuse.

Because the OP was saying: " Gov Scott needs to make a call to the federal government in case he needs some resources in the investigation of the shooting."

I was pointing out there are already Federal Investigative Resources ( the FBI ) at the scene.

Why hasn't Obama called and offered additional resources?
I believe constitutionally the Governor of the state has to make the call to the Feds first. Similar to hurricane relief.

When he told the press he called Trump and Pence a reporter pointed out it would be appropriate to call the President. He then did so.

I'm sure Fla has all investigative resources they need. Thread was just my ongoing annoyance at the continued disrespect of Obama as a man and President.

Maybe Gov Scott remembered that Obama never called or spoke with him after the Orlando bar shooting.

Maybe that doesn't matter in the face of Scott's bullshit. He politicized the situation & said it was no time for politics practically in the same breath.

Yet righties will find some way to defend it.

You guys get your pants in a wad over every little thing Trump or the GOP these days, much like the far right used to do with every little thing Obama did.

It's the same mental depravity, Dems just haven't had an excuse to practice it since Jan 20th, 2009.

Not a surprise a pub would take an opportunity to slight Obama as well as suck up to Il Douche. It follows with their earlier established history respecting the office of the president, not to mention Obama personally.

They just stole a USSC seat from Obama, and are now telling the press they hope the Dems can do their job in the next Congress and not stoop to partisan obstruction. It's a fool's errand expecting this crowd to put country over party or business. Shameful stuff.

I do agree that they stole a USSC seat from Obama, Scalia died under his term and the seat never should have been left vacant this long.

Wait - do you really think a governor needs to call the President every time they want the FBI\DHS involved in something? The FBI and DHS operate very differently than federal aid released once a state of emergency is declared in a state

Gawd. Scott took the opportunity of a tragedy to tell us about his personal relationship with Pence & Trump, then pontificate about how it's no time for politics.

Pence & Trump have absolutely nothing to do with it.

If you can't recognize the astounding callousness & hypocrisy in that it's because you're deep in the post-truth mentality of the twilight zone.

Florida is highly gerrymandered inside the state, and has had a major impact in addition in Federal elections for decades.

Yes, thanks. Did a bit of research on that and saw some very odd looking maps. My crazy neighbours to the south. :p

It's official then; you're a moron.

pcgeek isn't a moron, just a hack.

Petulant man child

So you are saying that they didn't delay it? You must learn to embrace the truth, that is what they did. Nothing was stolen.

How does that make me a moron. I thought it was a smart move, it paid off too.

I know, I'm sorry your life sucks right now because the Democrats lost, but you don't have to take it out on me.

It was smart only if you think disrespect for the institutions of govt & the duty of the Senate is smart, not to mention disrespect for a man clearly qualified & deeply committed to the Law.

It's shameful.

The Democrats would have done exactly the same if the situation were reversed.

It has happened many times in the past for various reasons. At present it is only the 8th longest seat vacancy so far... Time will tell.

Good information in the link below:

http://blog.constitutioncenter.org/...-court-nomination-situation-isnt-that-unique/

"To be sure, the nomination or confirmation of Justices in election years, where seats became vacant for other reasons, is more common, but still rare in the modern era. Of the 112 Justices who have served on the Court, 16 were confirmed during an election year."

There is always some crazy sh!t going in Florida. It's usually only a problem if you go there, but there isn't really a good reason to, especially with the strong dollar making foreign tourist destinations far more attractive.

Needs more Benghazi and Scott's birth certificate. Maybe some college records thrown in.
You make a great Republican.
