republicans learns the hard way. never pick a candidate from the Delaware valley region. Pennsylvania and jersey are the most old boys club, corrupted states in the union.

We would, but we were repeatedly informed incidents like this are Faux Scandals.

This story has too many verifiable details and facts to be another Faux scandal, but I'm not surprised at all a parrot like you would gloss over that.

Kind of a non answer as well given there seems to be little you Faux addicts can't get yourself in a froth over - regardless of how stupid you are told it makes you look. Death panels! Kenyan socialists! Benghazi!

lol idiot

Politicians spin to put themselves in the best possible light...they all do it. I don't see this spinning as being anything close to significant. I know he's been very focused the last 4 years on fixing the problem...has he actually boasted that it's all fixed now? If so, please link quote.

He has boasted that he has balanced the budget so many times that I've lost count. Just google "Chris Christie balanced budget". He 'balanced' the budget in significant part by skipping pension payments and pushing them off to later years.

I think that boasting that you balanced the budget this year by making it much harder to balance the budget when you got out of office is very, very significant. If you are a believer in balanced budgets the way I think you are it should be even more significant to you.

Wait, they're learning something? Shens.

Right, unless I am outraged at the closings of lanes on a bridge, and not outraged over the handling of Benghazi, I am an idiot.

This just in. Lanes were closed on yet another bridge causing all kinds of traffic mess and headaches for commuters and the stretch of road.........Oh wait, that was just road construction.

Road construction is known in advance so EMS workers can plan routes.

Nobody in Ft. Lee was told, in fact Christie's staff specifically said don't tell them.

No, you're an idiot because you post idiotic replies. Pretty straight forward really. Being outraged over Benghazi to begin with just underscores that.

Not being outraged over it shows you pick and chose what enrages you based on what letter is after the offenders name. Pretty straight forward really.

That will literally never happen. The Inquirer could publish front page photos of Hillary going to town on her chief of staff with a chin dildo and she'd still beat Christie.

Look, the average american voter is a superficial idiot. There is no way that the majority of the voters are going to vote for a morbidly obese fat fuck.

I could care less really. For me its anybody but a conservative republican, libertarian, but most importantly not Hilary Clinton!

You being outraged at Benghazi before there's any solid proof of any wrong doing underscores what a pathetic hack you are. You trying to compare Benghazi/IRS to this scandal which has ACTUAL SOLID SMOKING GUN PROOF underscores exactly what's wrong with the conservative movement.

It's not just that. Disrupting traffic like that cause public harm. It increases accidents, increases costs, and threatens public safety. Sometimes such disruption is necessary to serve a greater public good, and as you suggest, proper planning for those cases can help mitigate the impact. Intentionally causing such impact for a petty political vendetta is reprehensible. To pretend to not understand the difference is yet another example of Matt's devoted partisanship and overall lack of personal integrity.

Thanks for proving my point. I'm sure anyone who has read your gems on Benghazi is sharing a chuckle with me right now.

Oh look, you even included the "if you disagree you're a Dem!" retort. How quaint. lol

my impression was that the EMS workers and such weren't actually going through the construction -- I can't actually think of a good reason why an ambulance would need to traverse the GWB even in the best of times rather than going to a hospital on the NJ or NY side they're already on -- but rather, that the traffic caused backups onto local roads that impacted them (I think I heard an increase of 5-10 minute response times?)

otherwise I'd say anyone who didn't know to take the Tappan Zee deserved their fate. the GWB is always a clusterfuck unless you're out on the road at like 5 am.

There just isn't enough bold here for that sentence...

Mods, can we get a Bold function that goes to 11?

A pretty big chunk of the right wing is like this, unfortunately for the US.

While that actually is pretty accurate as to my reaction, I have to ask: what's the green arrow for? Sorry, my meme-fu is not as strong as I'd like it to be.

It's the upvote arrow from Reddit. Basically I agree and approve entirely with what you wrote and didn't think there was anything I could add to make it better.

That add an extra 35 miles (70 miles round trip) to a commute from Central NJ into Manhattan?

On the contrary. EMS office wrote letters/sent emails asking what is going on. They said their routes were being effected. I heard one worker indicate a 2-3 minutes route took almost 10 minutes.

If someone is having a heart attack that difference can mean the diference between life or death.

it's longer milage-wise, but it's still going to cut an hour off the trip. I used to date a guy who lived right off the GWB, in Spanish Harlem, and I still found it faster to just take the Holland Tunnel + West Side Highway to get there and back when I'd drive in.

of course, if you're going into Manhattan proper you're fucked either way. just take the train.
