Yea, first thing I thought when I read the OP was "I've heard of and seen 'diet water' before". which I have.

That's just stupid. Just because you heard of it doesn't make the concept of diet water any less stupid or the people actually wanting it any less stupid. It's all completely stupid.

I didn't say it wasn't stupid. I actually agree. But the OP was worded in a way that said it like "omg the girl asked for a diet water@ how stupid can you be to ask for a diet water" when it's actually a marketed product. If a phD would have asked for the water.....

Of course I could be wrong but i've never seen "Diet water" sold anywhere in the northeast. Those links appear to indicate that these are sold in Japan, not necessarily in the US. What the girl was actually asking for was a free cup of water.

I was at a Burger King one time ~2002 and someone asked for diet water.
I asked the employee what the fuck they meant.
She told me that people ask for diet water and want bottled water, instead of the free tap water.

Sorry, even if it is a product, I would still laugh at anyone that asks for it. Just like I laugh at anyone who buys copper bracelets, the magic toxin removing tree food pads, or lottery tickets.

I buy and make copper bracelets. Not for any magical healing power, it's just my favorite metal. It's kind of a shame the fad died out. I have one cool looking copper bracelet that also has magnetic buttons on the end :^D
