Got Wii Fit this weekend

I picked up Wii Fit this past weekend. I spent 30 minutes in it last night and plan to use it on a daily basis when I get home from work. I think its a well made game/simulation/workout-thingy. What other games utilize the board that are worth renting? (I have gamefly).

You won't spend more than a week on it. It'll spend time collecting dust like all the Wii and accessories.

As good of an idea as I think Wii fit is, this is probably going to be true.

See there's one very large problem with wii fit - you cant set up a workout routine. So between every little 2 minute exercise, you have to click through a bunch of menus, wait for it to load, wait for the guy to say hello. It wont bother you at first, but after you've done it a few dozen times and know all the techniques, you'll see that the damn thing is just getting in the way of your actual workout.

Hopefully Wii Fit 2 (if it ever comes out) will address this, as it's a pretty huge flaw IMO.

I think I'll give Shaun White Snowboarding a whirl. And I seriously doubt that Baked. Maybe it won't last past 3 months (wii fit specifically), but I'm sure to use it more than 1 week.

I've had the wii for about 6 months now and I play it at least 3 times a week. The only accessories I have are the wii console, 2 wiimote w/ nunchucks, and just got a gamecube controller, along with the balance board.

if you are a gamer it will collect dust.

if you are just a causual person i think it might last a little longer but in the end you you will reach the same.

i havent touched mine in list 6months. the lack of games and novelty does run dry quick.

I've used this since it came out and yes im a gamer. I just created my own workout, usually spend about 1/2 hour on it after work, 5 days a week. Since the end of May, i've lost 15lbs. I wasn't obese either. something is better than nothing i guess lol

Heh. I need to ask my sister if she's gotten much use out of her Wii Fit. Though, I doubt it is much since a neighborhood kid somehow jammed a music CD into their Wii and can't get it to eject...

I think a distinction needs to be made. I'm a normal PC gamer. I haven't owned a console since PS1. Not only have I only played through only 2-3 wii titles, there are countless SNES, N64, and gamecube games to play.

I have a list of over 45 games that I want to play through that I've never played. I don't really see this collecting dust. And my fiance really likes doing the yoga on wii fit as well 🙂

if you are a pc gamer u dont need a wii to play countless snes, n64 games.......

oh and by playing countless old games the novelty of the wii has already faded....
the wii = motion sensor gaming.

old games does not equal wii gaming. you are just playing older games not the new wii hotness

you will get to the point where you get tired of flicking or pissed that it not responding right.
the wii does make a great party system. and some of those games get that done right.

but after a while you will get tired of flicking the controller just to attack someone. you just want to push a button instead.

"sword fighting" is only so fun.

hmm readying my comments i really sound like i hate the wii. its not really the case its just the lack of ""quality"" games is really missing. there is nothing out there that makes me want to turn it back on.

btw get zack and wiki its really fun. brings back full throttle memories.

im playing those as well. I feel like im defending myself here lol. I am still playing through zelda (almost finished), world of goo. I'm getting super mario galaxy + shaun white snowboarding next. I then have about 10-15 other wii "hotness" games to play through.

The only older game I have so far is Super Mario World (SNES) and I really want to play through the old zeldas.

im not really attacking you. just saying the games especially the multi platform the wii never wins.

the only really good games for the wii are like....
super mario galaxy
zelda
zack and wiki
smash brothers
no more heros?
metroid prime?
super paper mario...
mario kart?

8 games.. 3 are mario baesed another one contains him.

i dont know where you are getting 45 games from.

okami, re4 are both remakes

................

if you can make your wii last and keep playing it.. more power to you. i dont know if it helps that you are a pure pc gamer but enjoy it.

remakes that use the wii controls are still wii games though. and when I said 45, those are total games including virtual console/wiiware/gamecube games. I would also add these wii games:

bomber man blast
call of duty (W@W)
pro evolution soccer 2008
tiger woods golf
trauma center
fire emblem (wii)
wario land: shake it
Boom Blox

So wii games would be a total of: 18. I think by the time I play through 18 wii games and countless virtual console, wiiware, and gamecube games that enough new games will come out that will be good.

Wii Fitness Coach fixes this.

I think this is the fitness coach that sactoking was referring to.

I agree about Wario Ware. I rented Raving Rabbids TV Party and nobody in my family liked it much at all. Some of the mini games are fun, but waiting through all of the pathetically annoying cut scenes (some of which are longer than the games themselves) took all of the fun out of it. We all enjoy Wario Ware, though.

We've had one since it first came out. It still gets used daily.

Amazon has it for $19.99 btw. It is temporarily out of stock but you can still order it at that price and they'll ship it when it comes back in.

Curse you casual gamers! I sold my Wii, Wii Fit, and half a dozen games. For profit.
