I have this old, antiquated WANG minicomputer here where I work. Believe it or not, it's still in use! I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who gets to play with WANG...

Yes, I do have a WANG. In fact, I'm using it right now.

.... Um... I work for Wang.... Or at least what's left of it, it was bought about a year ago by Getronics, and we are still going through all the name changes... They don't make computers anymore, mostly network management stuff now...

Believe it or not My calculus teacher at PSU was named Chang Shang Wang... (all rhyming) It allowed us hours of endless fun daily.

When I going through my high school graduation ceremony we have a academic recognition part where our Vice-Principal calls up the bright kids and they accept awards etc. We are all sitting in the middle of the auditorium with our gowns, hats and all when this poor kid in Grade Nine was called to the podium for winning the Science award.

"Harry Huang" - which is basically "Hairy Wang"

One of my fellow grads who was the class clown literally stood up and looked around incredulously repeating to himself "Hairy Wang?!" "Hairy Wang!?"

Almost in unison the whole grad class threw up our arms, whooped and hollered and just plain cracked up laughing like crazy. Like during a basketball game when someone puts down a vicious flush right over someone.

Poor kid. I feel soooo bad now. I hope he's not a serial killer now. I hope he's rich. It would make me feel better.

They still use a WANG in my office everyday. We run a terminal emulator off of the PC's to access it, but its still in use.

They won't get rid of it because all of the programs are custom written and they feel that the PC's are toys.

I actually worked for Wang for a few weeks. Found out it was a mistake for me so I quit. They couldnt believe it.

There was a Chinese restaurant near my college that was called "House of Wang" and I used to crack up every time I drove past it.
