It's unopened... can I just go to Walmart and exchange for widescreen? (I don't have the receipt)

Don't they give you store credit at least? So, why not?

Make sure your Wal-Mart still has the widescreen version. Any time I try to find 'older' films there it's always in freaking full screen.

It's a shame that so many people can't get over the bars displayed in the majority of widescreen movies. I hate the full screen format!

I remember hearing about some chip or something that will allow the screen to adjust to widescreen. I think I saw it on InHD or something. Haven't heard anything since.

Yes, they'll let you swap it. At least, Best Buy had no problem letting me do the exact same thing

That "chip" wouldn't work too well. It would either "stretch" the image, or crop it, both of which are stupid.

I think you would get the same effect as if you placed black construction paper across the top and bottom of your television screen. :p

If hollywood would just shoot in the proper format, we would have widescreen with no black bars.

There are too many formats now, 2.35:1 sucks even on regular widescreen. On regular 4:3 monitor, that one blows.

I've found this site with widescreen vs. full screen sales stats... In some cases, full screen to widescreen sales ratio is 10:1.

I was hoping that they would release a super duper special edition for X-mas. Maybe next year.

As an aside, is it just my imagination or are there increasingly more 2.35:1 movies now that widescreen TVs are becoming more prevalent?
