I've got a 14"x9"x9" mini fridge (only 45 watt) Cools to 40F. I figure i can gut it, and attach the cooling coils to a heatsink. Will this work? I need some tips on insulation material.

It's probably based on a peltier, and if it's 45watt it will be far too weak for most modern CPUs. If it's somehow based on a normal condensor setup, it still won't work as those are not designed to run 24/7 (they'll burn out quickly due to the continuous heat output of a CPU). The only viable refrigeration for cooling computers at the moment is a large peltier/watercooling setup, chilled water (from aquarium chillers) through watercooling, and phase change cooling systems. There also exists short term cooling such as dry ice and LN2.

Yeah, I suppose you could run AC right into the machine, but that isn't really a dedicated system cooler, but rather an entire room cooler (unless you'd do some fancy ductwork to make it a system which draws air from outside and expels air outside).
