First off, it was packed in there, but only like ~10 people looking at the 2 (yes, thats just TWO) new laptops on display. Everyone else was looking at iPods or other stuff.
Anyway, I really, really, liked it. For reference, I have an Asus laptop that I have used for the last few years and it is getting a little long in the tooth and I am jealous of my brothers who both have older macbooks.
The screen is gorgeous (the glare didnt bother me, but I like glossy screens and I am not a photog/graphics guru), and the construction of the body is awesome. Very little flex when holding the laptop in one corner, and the feel of the whole thing with the lid closed is very portable and comfortable. I liked the keyboard fine, and as for the touchpad....Well, the touchpad was what I was most skeptical about, and I have to say that my fears were unfounded. It is amazingly easy to get the hang of and is just so intuitive. Like the way you can make windows dissapear by going up (dont know what that is called on a mac), access the window switcher menu, go to expose, etc. As for dragging icons around the desktop and simple things, I did not even have to think twice (the huge size of the trackpad is really nice).
All in all, I was very impressed....now if only the student discount was not a measly $50 dollars...
