Got to use one of the new Coca-Cola dispensers

Saw a CNBC special about Coke and they focused on this machine. The flavor concentrate is held in special cartridges right in the machine.

Here is a simple description from wiki:

Technologies involved include microdispensing technology and proprietary PurePour technology. Both technologies were originally developed to deliver extremely precise doses of drugs.[1] One Freestyle unit with a similar footprint to current vending machine can dispense 126 kinds of carbonated and non-carbonated beverages from one freestanding unit. Microdosing blends one or more concentrated ingredients in 46-ounce packets with water and sweetener at the point where the beverage is dispensed,[4] thus avoiding the use of traditional 5-gallon boxes of syrup (also known as a bag-in-a-box).[6] Cartridges store concentrated ingredients in the dispenser cabinet and are RFID enabled. The machine uses RFID chips to detect its supplies and to radio resupplying needs to other units. The traditional ice cube dispenser remains.[7] The maximum rate of output is 95 drinks per hour.[4]

I love how it's based off of medical technology, considering that Coca Cola used be considered a drug itself.

It's so awesome.. it has its own wiki article

Pretty neat machine

The local Fuddruckers had it. Had over 100 drinks to select from and allows you to mix them up if you want. Got me some Powerade Zero Fruit Punch.

It's pretty neat/cool, but the only problem I see with it is that the drink lines can get really long with people not knowing how to use it, not knowing what drink to get, or just exploring every option available.

To hack one - hit the water button (bottom right in guyver's pic). You'll see a bunch of light blue bubble/circles. Some of these are buttons. When I saw it done, it was three buttons in a triangle pattern, all at the top middle.

Grape sprite and cherry sprite are my favorites. Wendy's in Topeka has one as does Mr. Goodcents in Lawrence. 64 oz refill there is only 50 cents also.

As for multiple dispensers being good, I find that even with 8 or so dispensers, you usually only end up getting at most 2 people getting a drink at once. Sometimes people don't want to intrude, and you'll only get one person at a time. I know if I'm getting a drink from the left side, I'll try and stand off to the left so someone else can jump in on the right.

Wonder how they figured out how to make it so it won't overflow the cup with the carbonation foam?
For example, Sprite's foam will disperse almost immediately. Colas seem to be middle of the road, though they tend toward quick dispersal.
However, most root beers form a very long-lasting foam, with some exceptions - filling a cup with the same amount of root beer as Sprite would either result in a lesser amount of Sprite, or root beer everywhere.

lol. people sure do love cool new ways to develop diabeetus.

😀
The Coca-Cola Insulinator® is usually located right next to the drink dispenser. (Also available carbonated.)

The advanced technology typically found in the South will almost always be something that has to do with blissful indulgence.

We've had these in middle TN at a local Firehouse subs for months. Glorious to behold but alas our collective IQ is not quite up to operating standards.

Dasani is filtered water sold by the Coca Cola company

Water comes from the tap, sold by your local water company.

but in that machine, is there a difference? there's different buttons. but iirc a regular coke fountain uses the filtered water for the water dispenser as well.

some people think they're doing some kind of chemical engineering over there or something. when you step up beside their slow ass to get a drink, they act like you just raped a baby.

edit: also hey guyver, nice giant slow-loading irrelevant picture. good contribution, as usual.

How does the carbonated water get supplied? Goes for old machines too.

Just filtered tap water that gets 'carbonated'? Or does Jojo have to deliver tanks of the shit at night?

dasani is filtered tap water at their bottling plant...

water is filtered at the water filtration plant.

honestly.. i'd trust dasani over some area's local filtered water.

Do you really think that they have a tank of Dasani water in these machines for when you pick Dasani?
