OS's have always come out prior to hardware that would fully take advantages of the full range of features available in the OS in a timely manor.

This is the nature of things.

2000 was a SIGNIFICANT improvement over 9x, XP a marginal improvement over 2000, Vista, it might only be an improvement over XP for certain types of endusers.

The problem is that software companies for some reason use the term "Beta" to mean something different than every other company in the world. In all other aspects, Alpha means the product is completed but under testing internally. Beta means the product is completed, passed internal testing, and needs external testing. For software companies only, they skip the requirements (a) to be complete and (b) to have fully passed internal testing.
