you keep your japcrap and i'll keep my made in the usa.
i forget that ricers abound here. go get another shitass civic.

lol ... >30% of the parts on your average >2000 HD come from the pacific rim, primarily Japan and China.

My 1800 cc v-twin Honda VTX was manufactured in Marysville, OH.
Took the words right outta my mouth.

Chew on this GZ: not only are a sh*tload of the parts on a Harley "Made in Japan", many are from companies like Showa, Sunstar, and Keihin. Not familiar with those names?

They're Honda subsidiaries.

So tell me, does your V-rod do 10 second quarter miles? And if they only reason you're buying something is because its made in the USA then

Tachs out at 9,000 rpm, will blow doors on any rice I've seen on the road. Anyone else rode one of these yet?

Overpriced, overrated by people who don't know any better.

And there are many, many other bikes (mostly rice) that would absolutely slaughter it. If you're talking about "rice" as in cars, no $hit it'll blow there doors off. Almost any bike would.

Why buy either a Harley or a Riceburner when you can ride in style on either a Ducati or a BMW....Ducati for speed and performance BMW for ride comfort and style....but then again I am no fan of Japanese bikes or cars...give me German or Italian anyday.

Too bad more companies from other countries don't step in to compete with the japanese, I would love to see a new startup American bike co enter the frey and offer something different...

Kind of looks like the Kawasaki 1500CC Vulcan

Hey Red, at least the Vulcan is a cool name....Star, Ninja, Magna...etc the Japanese really need to work on their names and such as imho they suck....not saying the Buell "Blast" is any better but still a lot more macho than Star or Magna...IMHO of course

Yamaha has V Twin Harley Clones with the Name of Roadstar (kind of similar to Sportster)

Want to know what's amazing ?

Harley is still the #1 bike sold in America.

That says something doesn't it.

Cite?

Even if its true (which I have doubts) that doesn't mean squat. The Ford Escort was the best selling car in America for many years and it was absolute crap.

Apparently you have no idea what you are talking about, don't give the crap that Harleys suck, they don't.

I have owned several Harleys and NEVER had a problem with ANY of them.

You guys are comparing apples to oranges, all Harleys (Except the Vrod) are cruisers, not rockets meant for racing.
Enough said.

Have any of the Harley bashers here ever even RIDDEN a Harley, let alone own one ?

No it actually says American Motorcycle Riders tastes are different than that of Internet Dweebs. The Japanese are getting a Clue though and are building clones that are well enginered. I'm begining to see more and more of them on the road and from not a to far distance actually confuse them with HD's

I'm not bashing Harleys. They make a "good" bike.

My second bike was a Sportster. I used a Heritage Softail Classic for a year.

That being said, I will never buy a Harley again. Overpriced and overrated, IMHO.

I'd take a Victory over a Harley if I was in the market for a cruiser.

True Red, I see more young kids on CBRs, Ninja's and other crotch rockets because they look "Cool" they are cheap and they are really fast death traps...but the other people with more money who are more likely to buy used are most often riding the cruisers and many of them are Harleys and such...a few Magnas and other Jap clones....Harley is also just a bike company mostly, they don't have the luxury of making drumsets, synthasizers, ski doos and cars like the Japanese conglomerates do....they have to suppliment their income with merchandising and other sales....I am really impressed that with their limited resources when compared to other companys that they still do well and they even thrive.
