Got The Sennheiser HD495...Question...

These sound pretty good, i am running these off of a SBLIve PLat 5.1... The problem is that they dont get loud enough, what can i do to make em louder? I have heard of headphone amps, but i dont know how much they cost or what they really do... What should i do?
 
You might want to check out www.headphone.com they sell a few amps. Just know that you will pay more for the amp then you did for your headphones. If you are semi handy with soldering you can make one from the directions at www.headwize.com, also at headwize they will tell you exactly what they are and how they work becaues i am not exactly sure myself but i know they are good 😉

 
You may also want to look into something called the Sennheiser DSP360. It gives headphones dolby pro sourond sound and it is supposed to work as an amp also. I picked up one off of egay for $29 and they normally go for $100+. you may want to look for one of those.
