so i got my new system

AMD Athlon 64 3500
1 gig kingston value ram
connect3d x800 xt
16- gig SATA saegate HDD
MSI K8N Neo 2 platinum
sound blaster live 24 bit

and there is only 1 problem left to solve so far....

i cannot get my sound card to work... i got the onboard sound orking fine but the cound card just wont do anything...i installed all the drivers, im pretty sure atleast, and i did go to the bios to disable the on board sound and it still wont pump out the sounds. any ideas?

also on a side note what would be my projected hl2 stress test result?

thanks in advance

Did you try reseating the card, or using a different pci slot? Also sound cards have many different jacks, so make sure that you're using the right one. I had a friend who couldn't get his speakers to work, but after a quick look I determined they were plugged into the microphone jack.

PS I'm pretty sure you meant 160 gig hard drive, not 16.

I'd disable the onboard audio, MIDI and Gameport in the mobo's BIOS and see if that helps 🙂
