Got the car detailed

You might want to redact the LP numbers though. :\

Why? Do you hide them when you're driving? Do you take them off the car every time you park it? So, what's the difference between seeing the plate in a pic or in person, as anyone can do on any given day?

Yeah...I've never understood that. Even test mules people block out the plates. In most cases, a half assed attemp to. I don't think I've ever blocked out my plates. Someone else's, maybe, but not my own.

How much did that cost you? I've been looking to get my car detailed for a while now. It has 2 minor rust spots/bubbles, and they need to be dealt with immediately.

Looks extremely nice by the way.

Literally hundreds of people see my license plate numbers daily, not sure why I'd wanna black them out on the interwebs.

I paid $450 for the paint correction and opticoat; it would be about 100 bucks less for just the paint correction.

Because people can get your real address from plates at the DMV. Typically people posting cars online comes with a lot of pictures of expensive stereo gear, a big list of mods, etc. Basically a shopping list for thieves. That's how it started out as a bad idea. The idea that is was bad generally just spread from there. Nobody really cares about a stock 1993 civic or something other than if you care you might be giving away your real identity.

In a related note, its why some people run a script to delete anything older than a month or two off facebook and reddit. Searchable histories are good. I'm sure you've seen those internet revenge fests where someone does something and suddenly they have his home phone, place of work, etc, etc. That's part of how that sort of thing happens.

No, I don't. But then the internet is a tricky place.

For one, I don't need strangers knowing who I am and where I live. I especially wouldn't want them to know how nice of cars I drive and where exactly they may be parked at night.

Are you implying that I'm in Korea, driving a car with IL plates? Because the exif data in the pic would tell you I'm downtown Chicago...

He's in the Chicago area. He has greater chances of being hit by a stray bullet than someone stalking him based on a license plate. I've posted both my plates online on mutliple forums (for years) and I've never had anything stolen or internet creepers come by. One of my cars can be stolen with a screwdriver.

You've done a fine job maintaining the finish and I'd bet the car is fun to drive but I can't really say I like that particular body style..

Actually Latitude 41.928294 Longitude 87.682242 puts you in downtown Hoxud, Bayingol, Xinjiang, China, lol.

Nice job on the car.
