No, I'm not a criminal. I play for the other team. It's hard to describe the feeling but it is like you can feel the electrons running up and down your body. You have no control over anything but you mouth a bit. I heard more cussing and screaming today than I have in a long time. Nothing like a long drawn out Goooooodddddd Dammmmmnnnn iiiitttt. One guy even yelled mommy. A women that was there said she would rather go natural child birth again than be tased. It's the longest five seconds of your life. It feels more like five minutes.

I got tased as part of a citizens academy. I only took 2 seconds and it was the longest 2 seconds of my life. I can't imagine getting the full 5.

Is this considered torture? Maybe the pansies against waterboarding would rather use tasers.

There are no long term effects. After getting tased, you can get right up and shake it off.

Ive never been tased but Ive gotten some pretty good electric shocks. Once when I was replacing a switch that hasnt been changed since 1930 and the wiring insulation had long peeled off. I was holding the switch in one hand and trying to pull the old wire off when the screwdriver slipped and I completed the circuit. It was a pretty good shock with my arms vibrating up and down. I couldnt let go. Finally out of exhaustion my hands just dropped it and it was over. Longest few seconds ever.

The full five is a bitch. It is for the equivalent of cop school basic training. Shitty part is it doesn't count for a certification so I may have to get it again when I get out.

Oh, it is a lot of fun... My sister "tested" hers out on me, just to make sure it worked correctly. Payback for decapitating her Barbies when she was little, I'm sure.

Not unless you count death as a long term effect.

Which would really suck if you're atheist.

I heard your muscles will hurt like hell after getting tased because of all the contractions. Any truth to this?

Healthy people do not die from getting tased. This is why police officers all have to get tased before being allowed to carry one. If it weren't safe, they wouldn't allow it. The odds of you dying from a taser hit is very low.

I guess the best answer would be it depends. They hooked one of the electrodes to my hip and the bottom of my ass cheek hurt for about ten minutes but other than that I was fine. IT seemed the lean guys got hurt worse than the fat bodies.

Would it suck any less if you're a christian? Either way, you're dead...

Please go away. You're not wanted in this thread. Both of you.

But yet people die from being tased. Why risk it? Before agreeing to be tased you should seek the advice of a doctor. It just may save your life.

A medical is a requirement before enrollment into basic. But if you get it on the job a medical isn't required. If the risk of death was anywhere in the realm of reasonableness they wouldn't require all officers to have it done. It typically isn't good business practice to kill your customers. (unless your a tobacco company)

Considering on the street it is usually the last step before a bullet(but this can vary from department to department) I think the risk of death is much more acceptable than the alternative.
