well he didn't exactly state what procedure he had done now did he? 😉 it's a joke anyway numbnuts.

Am I the only one that thought he was talking about an ebay auction? Even though it's probably spelled different.

Not that i've had it done or anything to paraphrase Fausto: I mean omfg hi2u2 I would neber let a f@g near my junk with a knife....teh noes....aomg no aieeeeeoooooeeee nooooo EUNUCH!!! is yoar voice high piched know two?
I actually yelled at a coworker of mine the other day who refuses to get this done. His wife has had FOUR kids (three by c-section) and the f*cker expects her to have a tubal ligation on top of all that instead of him just getting a vasectomy. What an ass. :|

Wow that blows. Talk about putting the poor lady through the ringer. he's probably a pansy who can't stand a bit of pain for a couple of days. Not that it's pleasant, but there are painkillers and she's been through enough it's his turn now. She should just threaten to kick him in the nuts until he gets it done hehe. j/k

Not to mention that there's is a risk of death associated with a tubal ligation, and the tubal ligation not being as effective as a vasectomy.

I don't know WTF his problem is, but he needs to build a bridge and get the f*ck over it. Once we have our second rugrat, I'll do the same. I mean, it's an OUTPATIENT PROCEDURE for crying out loud. You feel like you took a Beckham goal kick to the nads for a few days and that's about it. It's the least I can do after watching my wife go through pregnancy, a c-section, and the subsequent recovery.....sheesh.

I tried to point this out and he just held firm on the "Nobody's going near my nuts with a knife" BS.

:Q

So he would rather put his wife's life at risk, and have her endure pain longer, than just get a simple outpatient surgery, that take ~30minutes, done? He should be castrated.

"he" is a pronoun that indicates a male person other than you. numbnuts was in reference to your inability to get a joke.

Makes me want to marry a Catholic, then I'll have an excuse not to get it done.

What an ass. He refuses a minor outpatient procedure but he's perfectly fine with his wife having major surgery instead?

I have actually considered doing this before, having a couple shots frozen, and then getting it reversed after getting married. But it is expensive (not as bad as a kid, though), and I just dont have the cash for it right now.

....after her already having had three caesareans....which are major surgery. Yes, he's an ass.

At least there is always the option of having a reversal, should you ever need it. 🙂

How often does that work though? I heard the rates are ~90%.

It varies with the time since the vasectomy. According to this article in one of my medical journals:

Years Since the Vasectomy | Chance of Rebuilding an Open Vas Channel | Chance of Pregnancy
Less than 3 years 97% 76%
3-8 years 88% 53%
9-14 years 79% 44%
Greater than 15 years 71% 30%

Most insurance covers it, but if yours doesn't it ranges between $350 - $1,000.

i've been pondering this. my wife is pregnant with our second and that's as many as want. not sure i really want to get my sack cut open tho. ouch.

I feel like I got kicked in the nuts really really really hard.

The anti-baby plan, or the *other* snip?
