I had signed up for 1 yr contract in Dec'02. But I was supposed to travel out of the country so switched over to a vacation plan. I came back and started my service again. I could get the same plan as they were offering it only in the holidays, so I got a $35- 300 min plan as my contract was ending in Dec. Today surprisingly I came to know that my contract was extended till Oct'04 because they put me under a new contract the day I switched back from my vacation plan. So now I have to stick with sprint for one more yr. Fought with the Sup. but nothing could happend. 🙁

He just offered me a $30 - 300 anytime plan with night & weekends starting at 8 p.m. Hope the additional corporate discount will make it better. !!
:frown:

THat sucks that they extended your contract... but you got a pretty good deal with the night and weekend minutes!

Haha they just screwed you over again. Sprint has just started advertising revised night/weekend hours starting at 7PM. 🙂

Still, I'm happy with Verizon. They aren't staffed by mongoloids.

That sucks, but almost all cell phone companies renew your agreement when you upgrade to a different and/or better plan.

I wan't to kill them. But the deal makes me fine... Not a bad deal after all...
300 anytime + unlimited night & weekends @8.pm - vision - corporate disc = $27.XX out of the door

For existing customers, you have to pay an extra fee per month for 7pm.

<-- can't wait to switch to Verizon regardless come 12/24. I'll lose my Sprint free wireless web and 8pm nighttime minutes, but being able to receive calls from everywhere is kind of a bonus with Verizon.

That's the goal of any phone company... to screw as many of it's customers as possible without leaving them so mad that they switch to a different company. Give them credit for finding that happy medium where they get to screw you, and you always come back for more.

" but being able to receive calls from everywhere is kind of a bonus with Verizon."

you can't receive calls from every where or what with sprint ???

File a complaint with the BBB, they screwed me over and then i started receiving calls from sprint to resolve the matter. I got a pretty good deal because i'm sharing the plan w/ my sister.

Put it this way... I just switched my fiancee's phone from Sprint to Verizon. Her phone gets 3 bars everywhere in the house. Mine - 1 bar if I'm lucky in certain places, and none in my home office (kinda important). And I have a Sanyo phone that supposedly gets the best Sprint reception. Other than the reception, I'd stick with them because of all the discounts, etc... but it's simply not worth it if I can't even use it from here.

Just want to point out service/reception is very location specific. I have no problem with Sprint in Austin, TX.

I don't see what the problem is, you agreed to the terms, got screwed by the fine print, and now it's their fault?

I just activated the phone by calling their customer service number. They never told me that I was getting into another contract.

Just because they didn't tell you doesn't mean it's ok to file a complaint. You should have read the fine print of the contract. Switching plans automatically signs you up for a 1 year service agreement.

You screwed yourself. If you run a red light and get pulled over by a cop you can't tell him that nobody told you that you had to stop at a red light. Stop trying to blame other people for your misfortunes. Sprint has it BOLD and CLEAR in their user agreement that anytime you switch plans you agree to a one year PCS Advantage Agreement plan. Read more carefully next time.

so bottom line is "I got screwed"

Like I said earlier, almost all companies do this. They didn't screw you over, you screwed yourself over by not reading the obligations that come with the plan.

Uh. Where did you get THAT idea? Verizon employee == mongoloid. Verizon lineman != mongoloid.

Verizon's offices put me on a CO waaay out of the way. Verizon's linemen tell me that my CO is right down the street. Sure this may not seem like a big deal - but, uh, where's my friggin 3/3mbit SDSL? I'm in range - unless you ask Verizon's office.
