i won a ps2 game on ebay that i paid through money order well over a month ago..i still have not received the item and any email i would send to the seller results in "i sent your item, expect it in 5-7 days"

i've never been ripped off on ebay so what should i do or who else should i contact other than ebay?

this is the users info...recently he's had a lot of negatives

How much are you out?

Contact ebay, and leave the obligatory negative feedback. Have they left you feedback yet?

Not by anyone reading the seller's feedback, a lot of them clustered together are the most telling kind. The seller has either died or gone bad, either way you don't want to buy from them.

Why? just because of one bad experience? That's silly.

Try and get the tracking number for package. If the seller really sent it he would have it.

You could file a fraud complaint, but that will only get you less than $15 back. I had a similar problem a few months ago regarding a CD deck - I eventually filed a fraud complaint with the U.S. Post Office, and that seemed to get the seller's attention (he sent me a check the next week).

Hm. Maybe his account was hijacked. After about the 20th page, there are few negatives....

sorry for your loss, but I gotta ask, why a money order? They don't offer much protection, do they? At least with paypal or a check, you stand a *slightly* better chance of getting something back if you are screwed.

If the seller insists on cash or money orders only, I wouldn't bid on any of his stuff.

Wow - that's really strange to get burned by a 2000+ feedback person. My guess is hijacked account.

Use this form and retrieve his phone number. You type in the auction #, log in and it will send both of you each other's contact info.

Over the phone, discuss where the money was sent to, whether he recognizes the auction. That should tell you if it's been hijacked or not.

in his auctions he states that he will take paypal, which is the only reason i bid with him....but once i won the auction his paypal account wouldn't work (i couldn't login and send him money) and he would only take money orders...i didn't get suspicious with this particular incident but i guess i should have been

edit: now i notice that by his name it says "not a registered user". does that mean his account was hijacked?

That's what I was going to suggest.

Also with his phone number you can do a reverse lookup, maybe he's using another identity and/or living elsewhere.

Why would you bid on that in the first place with so many negatives lately?

Out of curiosity why would you buy something from someone who has negative feedback for not shipping the item but taking the money?

Recently?!?!? The fact that you got ripped is kinda your fault. Did you even notice the recurring user names on a majority of his positive feedbacks? Even from his negatives from a year ago you could have realized that he was a slime ball!!!!

That sucks. Yeah it does look like a hijacked account. That would suck to be the person who had their account hijacked too. Ebay is probably going to try to hold them responsible for all this and their 2000+ feedback rating is shattered.
