I work for BuyEssex and no, we're not just a garage based operation, we are indeed a business that uses eBay for part of our model. We get returns from a lot of major retailers. It's honestly not worth our time to test a PC Game to see how whether or not it works. I'm sorry, but this is why we sell it as-is. We literally have more product than we can process. It's a liquidation company, folks!
As for the 96.9% feedback, no it's not good for a regular eBay seller. But for a Liquidation company that deals with the kind of product that we do, it is excellent. We're going to have people leave negitive feedback that is legit and was unquestionably our fault and our bad. And then we're going to have people who don't read the auction completly.
Lastly, we don't test something, see it doesn't work, and then list it as "untested as-is". If it doesn't work, we'll tell you that. If we say it's as-is and untested, its exactly that. You're taking a risk and sometimes you get a great deal, othertimes you do not.
