Same boat, Ive applied for TONS (getting close to 50) of jobs. Nothing. :(

Guess they want people who get quit and go back to school to pay for their sins of becoming higher educated by sticking it to them through student loans and not being able to get a job and pay it back in time. ;)

I've applied at no less than 10 places in the last 1-2 months and have been rejected from each and every one of them. There are no jobs and I need one badly :(

You people who have been lookin for jobs for more then 3 months, do you get lesser type jobs while your looking, and plan to quit them when you find a good job? Or do you sit at home on your ass everyday?

Management.

They have this program for college grad. Work at Walmart for about 2-4 years, then you can be a manager. Depend on your performance.

Management Trainee.

If you're into working retail (some people diss it but the times I worked in retail beat the hell out of my office job now...if it wasn't for the pay, I'd much rather go back...more interaction with much less high strung people) just try a different store, bring your experience at Wal-Mart and your degree, and you shouldn't have too tough of a time finding a position. :)

Maybe they thought you'd quit after the summer so they didn't want to take the chance. Did you mention what hours and days you would work? Maybe they didn't like it if it wasn't full time.

I was rejected from Fry's, Target, Wal-Mart, school jobs. Then I sent out my resume at noon monday, got a call back at 2 for an interview at 4, and got another call at 6 saying I got the job.

I now work full-time at a law office with super flexible hours. Its an entry level job where they train as I go, but in a week or so I get the alarm code and a key to the office. I can come in whenever I want as long as I get my crap done. The bosses are cool and all my other coworkers are aged 19-24 girls. I'm the only guy (19).

I'm kinda happy all those stores rejected me.

EDIT: An another note, on the other 4 resume's faxed and 3 emailed, nobody else even called me back. I just got really really lucky.

As someone whos been hunting for 13 months, I wish places would GIVE me lesser jobs. They see my resume, and say "Yeah, and youll leave us first good job that shows up. No thanks, we dont want you". Its not as EASY as those with jobs think it is.

Yeah, WTF? While it could definitely cost you dearly to lie and *overstate* your qualifications, it seems like it would be unbelievably easy to understate them. Just forget to mention that you have a college degree until after you work there. If they actually fire you later, well, c'est la vie.
