Just starteed feeling somewhat normal this past week Neck pain and numbness in my arms seems to be subsiding. Wondering what the long term effects of my neck injuries will be though. Seeing the Doctor again this week. Considering litigation but I am hesitant to do so. I have been able to work ok albeit uncomfortably while enduring a tolerable level of pain.
Herniated and bulging disks do not just "go away". They remain so for the rest of your life.

It's been 6 years since my first whiplash injury (moderately herniated neck disk and all the rest are bulging from a rear-end crash by a bus at a red light) and nearly 2 years since my REinjury (a truck at a red light this time) and I still ain't back to "normal" yet.

Acupuncture provided me the best long-term pain relief. The MD's analgesics are bad news over long term.

DO (definitely) consider suing (it's a 2-3 year hassle if you get a lawyer but "worth it"; the SECOND time, I took care of the legal action myself and settled within 10 months - NOT recommended that you do it yourself unless you know for CERTAIN what you are doing).

And I am glad Sealy and your family is OK - Definitely get checked out by an MD.

You have a full year to take legal action. Keep a "journal" or calendar of your pain and also any lost work and wages, mileage traveled to and from therapists. A lawyer will give you a "free" (really free - no obligation) consultation. Unless you have a "good" (personal injury) lawyer already picked out, interview at LEAST 3 lawyers. In my case - I ended up firing my first lawyer when he screwed up royally - I lost a LOT of money by picking him (from a "recommendation").

There are no "magic" lawyers. Any "good" (read "caring", also) lawyer will get about the same settlement from the insurance company - a "bad" one will get you far less. The ones that promise you the most are likely the biggest BSers. Good luck!

You've probably seen it before, but it just came around to me again. Holiday season warning I guess.

Near to the door
he paused to stand
as he took his class ring
off her hand

All who were watching
did not speak
as a silent tear
ran down his cheek

And through his mind
The memories ran
of the moments they walked
and ran in the sand

Hand in hand
but now her eyes were so terribly cold
for he would never again
have her to hold

They watched in silence
as he bent near
and whispered the words..
"I love you" in her ear

He touched her face and started to cry
as he put on his ring and wanted to die

And just then the wind began to blow
as they lowered her casket
into the snow.

This is what happens
to man alive
when friends let friends
drink and drive.

That's all I have to say.

I'm going to follow up on that with "People who drink and drive should have huge a$$holes. From Bubba." :Q

My wife got hit from behind 12 years ago and still needs to go to the chiropractor twice a month. Our mistake was in not making sure the settlement was enough to pay for all that.

Thank you, we will definitely be making the trip! I agree with what everyone says about D&D. It will be interesting to see what happens to him...
