Sitting at a light behind 1 car. Truck pulled up behind us, fiance, 8.5 mo. old, and myself. Suddenly..... BAM! The guy behind decided to take his foot off the break and hit the gas! Was'nt too bad of a hit, hardly any damage to my car and his licence plate was just bent a bit. Baby is fine did'nt really flinch as a result of the bump.

So you may ask what's the big deal?

Well the guy driving the truck was stinking drunk! We managed to convince him to pull off the road to exchange information. Then a lady in another car pulled in behind his truck and was talking on the cell phone. Apparently, she had been following him for about 15 mins. and had been watching him swerve all over the road! She heard the crash from behind him and had already been on the phone to the police.

Well the police came and took the guy in for impaired driving, towed his truck and got statements from us and the women who had been following him!

Pretty exciting night for us! So the moral of my story is! DONT DRINK AND DRIVE! The accident could have been worse, my little baby could have been seriously hurt or worse...god forbid. Just wanted to share.

It's good to hear that you and your passengers are ok. Also good that one less impaired driver is currently off the road.

I hope you grabbed your neck and rolled around in agony when the police arrived.

i'm glad the jackass went to jail. I hate drunk drivers. They do so much harm to so many innocent people.

"Seriously"? How about "Not at all, except themselves"?
Drunk drivers need to be dealt with in a prompt and severe manner.
I suggest a beating about the head and shoulders with a tire iron.

I think that there needs to be a new law

"You drink, you drive, you get hanged in public"

I had almost the identical thing happen on Nov 7. Sitting at the light and this pickup rams into the back of my car. caused about $2000 worth of damage and it appears that i now have 2 herniated and 1 bulging disc in my neck. He was also drunk. Just starteed feeling somewhat normal this past week Neck pain and numbness in my arms seems to be subsiding. Wondering what the long term effects of my neck injuries will be though. Seeing the Doctor again this week. Considering litigation but I am hesitant to do so. I have been able to work ok albeit uncomfortably while enduring a tolerable level of pain.

Good moral. I saw an accident a few weeks ago that was horrifying. Speed limit was 45, the crash had to have been around 60mph or so. judging from the damage. Whoever was hit didn't make it. Homicide cars, police, blockades everywhere. Drive safely folks.

Amen...

There is zero excuse for drunk driving. You made the choice to drink and drive, you should pay a serious price for that choice.

You should definitely consider litigation.... you may be able to work with a little pain now... but in 5 years.... no way.
