Got pulled over last night...

(Before anybody says it, yes, it's my fault. mmmkay?)

We moved here in March of 05. When the wife was doing the budget she never could seem to find $$ to get the car's registered here in CO. Since I took over, I have it budgeted for next payday, 1/13/06.

However, last night we got pulled over for dead tags (cali tags expired in September). Wife was driving (heehee).

After over an hour of sitting on the side of the road with the whole famdamily in the car (my 2 year old was getting REALLY fidgetty) we finally got our tickets.

Expired tags
Not registering car within 30 days of moving here
Not getting license within 30 days of moving here
No proof of insurance (left the new cards that started 12/17 at home)

Sigh. one more month and it would have been clear. 🙁

"Finding the money" to register your car would have been a lot cheaper than a ticket plus a registration. Methinks the money was already there; you just had more "important" things to spend it on.

ouch. should have gotten it sooner, eh? it pays to obey the law.

Yeah. I think the money should come directly from his wife's paycheck, if she earns one. A situation like his would have me seriously reconsidering my marriage.

sometimes you have to make tough choices, but I could never expect anyone to leave the people they love.

Even if they suck him dry, ruin his credit, and take his hard-earned money without permission? Hell, if "people I love" did that to me, I'd fall out of love pretty darn quick.

Hey, I agree....I don't think I could stay with a situation like that, but like I said, you can't tell people who to love.

I just wanted to make sure you weren't defending his wife. 😉

Hell no...my ex-gf of 5.5 years always had to get bailed out, and love blinded me for too long. I'm never going through that again for anyone.

Heh.

I won't leave my wife. Not out of love, but out of loyalty. She stuck with me through crap (though her cheating trumped my lack of a job). Now she has lots of physical crap wrong with her, to the point where she can't work (much... 9 hrs a week at her church), plus our kids. It'll just take a while to get everything straightened out financially.

Getting out of this $1145 a month apartment will help, but that's for next year.

Damn I dread having to pay $325 for the 2bdr apartment I'll be moving into in a month. Either thats a killer apartment or your location sucks. If it's the location I would relocate in a heartbeat. I could rent a killer house for almost half that.

It was a long time ago. But it's an example of how much our relationship resembles Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Who said he had to? Would rather live here then CO or CA anyday. Been to a quite a few states in my time and wasn't impressed a bit and I have no plans on ever going back out of state unless it's a must have to situation.
