Mr. Smith: I move my finger one inch to use my turn signal. Why are these assholes so lazy they can't move their finger one fucking measly inch to drive more safely? You wanna know why?

DQ: Not particularly.

Mr. Smith: Because these rich bastards have to be callous and inconsiderate in the first place to make all that money, so when they get on the road, they can't help themselves. They've gotta be callous and inconsiderate drivers too. It's in their nature.

That movie has some great parts.

The obvious response is "That cop was using it as an excuse to pull you over. How dare he?"

I still use my signal, but if others aren't using it, I'm most certainly not going to attempt to guess their intent.

Well, you have to factor in retardism. I've been noticing a lot of people who either don't signal or signal the instant they start turning when on my bike or crossing the street they are turning into. It gets really annoying at an intersection on my bike; do I stop closer to the line like I should or do I leave space for them to turn? Well, if they don't signal, I go up, but then the asshats just pull up and squeezes by me.

Worst offenders are motorcyclists and scooters. Most riders I see on low-displacement, obvious squid-bikes and scooters always forget to turn them off.

So, the signal helps, but the it gets my attention more than it signals a move for me.

Still completely your mom's fault. It is her duty as a person yielding to traffic to make sure that person is turning.

its 2 milimeters away dammit.

Tell that to the numerous cops that don't.

That doesn't excuse you for being a dumbass.

Its false signaling.

Absolutely.

It's funny this thread came up today because yesterday I made a lane change and forgot to turn on my signal but was conscious of it right after. Even though no one was immediately behind me I still felt like a jackass because I get pissed when people don't use their signals.

So you are saying they are just as stupid as you are? I can understand that.

It's usually the slow ass drivers who don't use their blinkers.

Not only do they piss you off by driving slow, but they don't use their blinkers and take corners at 2MPH.

What pisses me off the most is when you're following someone in the left lane of a 2-lane road and all of a sudden they slow down and prepare to turn left (but need to wait for oncoming traffic to pass). Idiots signal much too late, like when they're near stopped already. Now you're stuck behind them wasting your time because if they had signaled earlier, you easily could've gotten into the right lane. How many g'damn times does this happen? Those m'fuggers need to DIAF. Some people just have no idea of their surroundings.

People who don't use their signal piss me off.

AND cause the most accidents. There should be a mandatory 100 dollar ticket for not signaling.

CRAAAAAAAWWWWWLLLL IN MY SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN.

Shut the fuck up and use your goddamn turn signal. If I was a cop, I'd give those out all day, along with front-window-tint tickets.

You couldn't be more righter-er-er, but I learned in driver's education that you still have to make sure they're turning.

People leave their signals on all the time. Are you telling me you're gonna risk getting T-boned?

I don't usually signal when changing lanes on the interstate unless i'm not 100% sure of what's around me. Usually when I change lanes I watch as someone approaches behind me and passes by me, then change over. I actually keep watch on all of my mirrors and my blind spot at all times though.

Anytime there is a significant amount of traffic i'll signal though.

I've noticed that alot of people who do use turn signals tend to use them in place of looking in their mirrors and in their blind spot whereas people who don't signal already know whether they are safe to change lanes.

technically it is, but this is my biggest pet peeve, when people leave their signals on and don't follow them. I don't know whether it should be a ticketable offense, but people deserved to at least get pulled over and issued a warning. i've seen lots of accidents caused by this

Vehicles have been built since the 1900's that way, amber is stupid, red is more atttention getting.

And another vote for using your turn signal. If you don't use it in front of me I won't let you in and you will get a nice finger. I wish more people would get ticketed for not using it.

Agreed. Signaling is second nature for me at this point, hell, I park in a deck that's pretty poorly constructed (such that turning around the corners is so tight you almost have to slow to a stop and make a 90 degree turn just to get around) and I catch myself using my turn signal just to circle out of the thing.

I make sure I am aware of my surroundings AND use my signal. I feel scurred if I didn't check my blind spot or signal.

I also hate the brakellight which is a turn signal I don't care if its not orange but I care that it should be seperate from a brake light.

Vehicles were also built without seatbelts and airbags. Doesn't mean that the old ways are better. :p

I much prefer amber signals.
