Sometimes I wish I could see the records of cops in terms of who they ticket (percent male to female, cuacasion to minorities, nice cars to sh*tty cars)

Even, caucasion, sh!tty.
I have a feeling NJ is worse than Minnesota. There were even a couple cases brought to light (in a big way) about racial profiling the roads of NJ.

Is a license plate frame or something like a plastic sleeve that goes over the license plate?

If its the latter, its illegal because when they try to tag you with laser when u speed, they need a reflective surface, which most of the time, the license plate will do.
The plastic cover significantly reduces reflectivity, and sometimes making it hard for photoradar to take a pic of your license plate, thus they are illegal.

I really just think he was like, "hmm some college kid driving an Audi... probably some spoiled brat... why don't I just give him a hard time and see how much sh*t I can get him for"

Which isn't true, I bought the car myself, and it's not even that nice (96 A4)... but even if it was, I don't appreciate any kind of discrimination that goes on whether it be due to race/ethnicity/gender/or social class. wow weirdness,
I'm 20 and have the same car (black a4 quattro) and i've never had a problem. I even got caught doing 17 over and the sheriff let me off with a warning. Did you give him attitude or something?
