Updated with pic because that's the ATOT way:

PIC!

Now I know why people buy really expensive and nice camera. My Canon SD400 is greatly lacking even in macro mode. Best one after 25 shots.

Close enough... I know, I was so sad at my camera... that little one just don't cut it in these kinda shots... but I CAN take it everywhere hehe.

And I'm too tired now to figure out how to get 100% from 0, but I just know I'll come up with a good explaination in the morning!

Mine were taken out under general anaesthetic. Mmmmm...valium. "Oh hey a needZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

They beat my jaw to hell getting the lower ones out. Had to grind them down to get them out, long cuts along my gums they had to stitch shut. And the whole leftover bone chip infection thing, I ended up in pain for about 3 weeks, unable to work for over a week I thing. And the one on the right side, the socket area is completely numb now, like having a wad of cotton in there. Luckily that's all that was damaged, could have caused the entire right side of my jaw to be permanently numb.

Also had another lower molar removed a few months ago under valium. No problems with that one except for a bone or tooth splinter that took a few days to work its way out.

Oral Surgery is even more fun.

PS Tylenol-3 (aka Tylenol + Codeine) sucks arse. Never had that crap do anything. Stick to Vicodin... or maybe Darvocet.

I was prescribed Codeine and it worked fine. I had all 4 taken out at once and 2 were impacted.

Make sure you don't drink through a straw, and always rinse with saltwater after eating... a dry socket and/or infection would be extremely painful.

Salt water for like the first 3 days, finish ALL your antibiotics (weeks worth) and I took painkillers for about a week and then I was onto steak in 3 days =))))))))).....

Just don't get anything near the area and no brushing!

Vicodin is if ur weak and you really need stuff. Motrin/tylenol should be enough usuallly.

I went through it four times (yes, four times, not all four at one). All of them were still under the gum (is that what they call it?) so they all required oral surgery (because the teeth were threatening their neighbors). I didn't eat anything during the first 24 hours, just went through the whole pack of those Ensure/Equate nutrition drinks each time. And I actually had some sleeping pills to sleep it off (instead of taking the pain killers). It will be fine after the 3rd day or so. After the second day, rinse at least twice daily using Listerine to keep the bacteria away.

Don't rinse it out for~24 hours, otherwise you'll wash out the clot that is building in the socket. After 24 hours *reaaalllllyyyy* gently rinse out with warm salted water 2 or 3 tmes a day. If the pain worsens continually for ~4 or 5 days, pop back into your dentist otherwise you could be in for a dry socket = hyper pain.

Best of luck, chief.

When I had mine pulled they were all done at once and had to be cut out, so three had stitches. Then I had to walk five miles uphill in a blizzard to get home.

If you get a special kind of rinse that the dentist uses you can gargle. I just happened to have it at the time. You can brush your teeth, just stop short of that area and rinse carefully. Use the warm saltwater, too. You're lucky you don't have stitches. Those were the worst part.

Barefoot? Wearing a dress make out of a potato sack?

Stitches weren't a problem for me, except that they leave half an inch of loose thread which floats around and makes it feel like something is stuck in your mouth, and when the thread got into the socket it hurt. Don't know what it is about doctors and me, but they always use standard thread for the stitches, not the dissolving kind, so I've had to go back to have stitches removed every time I needed them. Pulling them out from the gum feels like a really irritating itch but that's it.

Saliva kills germs.

Just try using some dihydrogen monoxide before bed. Most large grocery stores carry it if there is none in your house.

dihydrogen monoxide? you mean water? 😕
