Got one new tire ... crazy loud rubbing/grinding noise

The flat was on the front

So they move a rear tire to the front, and but a new one on the back..

I got a weird rubbing type noise .. pretty much sounds like a bad wheel bearing.

Could one of the tires be unbalanced, or just coincidently a wheel bearing went bad
when I had a flat?

likely your tires are too worn to really allow a single-tire replacement.

You could have an alignment done, but my guess is you need another new tire.

edit - if the flat had less than about 8-10k miles on it, disregard the above

I think the tire had 70K on it ... the radial wore through so it was definitely worn.

LuckyI didn't have a blow out

So... you have at least one tire that is similarly worn (possibly three) still on your car, and you're not worried?

The tire that blew was a lot older than the rest... I believe it was
the original tire on the car

i think the others are OK ... newer and different brand

Seriously..I wouldn't even want to drive that car to the tire shop in that condition.
