I'm actually really impressed with it. Needed to replace a big CRT rptv. Very impressed with the menu controls - lots of control, black level is pretty darn good, color is good after some work. Color is off at lower IRE but hopefully that can be worked out.

hhgreg has them for 2080 bucks. That's a LOT of bang for the buck.

I sit about 11-12 feet from the display. I need something this big. For the price I'm very impressed and it takes a lot to impress me.

I want to buy my parents this TV. Would it work well in a brightly lit room with light sources on 3 sides?

I couldn't tell you, I'm in a dark room but it can get plenty bright if you want it to. The only concern may be glare on the screen.

Waiting until Christmas time to possibly purchase this. Dad is going to buy my 52" Toshiba DLP to help offset the costs. He needs a new tv anyways.

I am hoping right after Christmas in the first week of Jan this TV may be sub 2k and I can put a 10% off with a rewards coupon to bring it down in the 1800 range. Ill take 67"s for 1800 bucks please. kthxbye.

Apparently if you're in the market for a big HDTV only samsung and mitsubishi are in the market unless you go plasma. For the money this is hard to beat. It doesn't have the color of a good plasma, but it's close. Real close. Very impressed.

Yup afaik they are the only two players left who make dlp sets. Mistubishi is coming out with a laser dlp in 09. When I started looking at these large sets the 67-73" DLPs were 2500-3100 dollars. A sony 71" LCD was 30K :D
