I got a seasonic s12 430watt psu today. replace my noisy vantec "stealth". when i tried to boot up it wouldn't get past the screen where you see windows xp and the progress bar under it. I hit reset and chose to start windows normally and it happened again. Hit reset again and chose to start windows with last working config and it booted up. Wonder what caused this?

i didn't try that. it worked when i chose "last working config" and it booted up. After I hit reset I got this screen saying windows wouldn't start normally and it listed a bunch of options. I just ran a spyware and antivirus and it checked out. Only thing I see missing is Winmx I downloaded late last night. And now it off my pc. wierd.

I would doublecheck all the power lead connections, and make sure everything is seated correctly.

Changing out the PSU is a big job and more often than not something gets jostled loose. If after this you experience no problems and windows boots normally in a repeatable fashion, you are fine.

HTH.
