well i got some sonys from teh egg and i plug them in they sound great well w/o any bass
when i turn up the low end on the equalizer it sizzles like..
it is onboard sound but i could get bass fine with old headphones....
these just dont have bass or something...
is it the onboard sound?
i have had these headphones before and they were very capable of bass VERY

but i never tried them on the computer...
is it the onboard sound? yes i have them in the headphone port....

What's the impedance on the new headphones? My guess is that it's much higher than what you used to have.

im talking the logitechs i had were 3.5mm jack not usb
the sonys i have now are 3.5mm
but that pair of logitechs have same drivers as my 3.5mm pair and maybe you guys could infer on what the impedance is on both

The AV710 is a good place to start, because integrated sound basically sucks. The reason I'm asking about impedance is because of current and such. If your headphones are high-impedance and your source (right now, in this case, your integrated sound) cannot supply a decent current, then the sound quality will suffer (usually bass goes first).

It was able to drive my Sennheiser HD280s that were 64 ohms, but I don't know what the impedences are on the phones you're using.
