There's an eyelash in between the film and the window, not too terrible noticable but I can see it, and there are maybe 2 or 3 small bubbles on the rear window, but the rest is perfect.

it was $180 for 25% all the way around.

am i just being anal or should i take it back?

4 days later: i tried opening/closing the window today (tuesday) for the first time since i got them tinted last friday and they seem real sluggish when they are trying to go up and it looks like some of the trim is messed up at the bottom of the window where the glass meets the door panel...

Window tinting..........TOUGH GIG!!!!!!!!!

I probably wouldn't bug 'em about the rear, but have 'em redo the eyelash window. If they're a descent shop, they should oblige.

Tinting is an imperfect art!

If there are bubbles in the middle of the tint, that's a subpar job. I'd definitely go back for the eyelash, and most likely for the bubbles if they were in the middle. They're only going to get worse over time.

when you pay someone to do it for you your already paying a premium in the first place. If you did that job yourself it would probably cost you 10 in window film. Go back and bitch until it gets fixed. If they don't fix it properly take the business down to the DLLR.

You should definitely run it back to 'em.

They probably "tucked" your rubber sills to install the film on the roll-down windows. (rather than pull the entire door panels which eats up lots of time). Whenever they do that, they will typically ask you to come back for the rubbers to be "properly" (lengthwise and completely so) pulled back up.

And believe me when I say that you've definitely got over $10 worth of film on your car. Even if you're just using a regular metalized film, you've probably got about $40-$50 worth of film on the car PLUS the tools of the trade can rack up rather quickly if you're running a professional shop.

Review:

#1.) Take it back & get the 'eyelash' window redone. (Tell 'em *I* said it's a redo ;) )

#2.) Have them look at your sashes (rubber sills where glass meets door panel) and show them your concern about rolling up and down. (they can be slightly slower, but shouldn't strain to close the window)

Wait for the back window to dry completely and the bubbles will likely go away. Some small bubble is typical of a fresh job that hasn't dried yet.

I just had mine done about a month back and one of the rear side window had about a 1/2 inch long piece of lint between the glass and film and you can definitely see it from the outside. There was also a noticeable bubble on this window too. It was already 3 weeks before I took it back in and by then it was too late to try and force to tint to stick at the 2 flaws. He had to redo the whole window over.

If it bothers you take it back. There's no such thing as a perfect job but if you're unhappy about it the shop should do what they can to resolve it.
