What would you get instad? Mustang GT? 300HP for under $25k. WOOHOO! Next!

Legacy GT;) 25k for 250/250. Add another k and you're at 300/350;)

Gas mileage in the low 20's.

beat me to it...

Well, just about anything is a step up from the puny 1.6L in my old Sentra so I'm content.

I obviously didn't place straight line speed at the top of my list.
Otherwise I'd be in a GTO or Mustang GT for $30k.

I was looking for a little bit of luxury, reliability, sporty handling (stick a must), tech and fuel efficiency.
TSX was pretty much the only car that fits the bill.

Out of curiosity OP, did you look at the Civic SI?

Nope, was looking for something a class above my Sentra with more luxury and content.
Also need 4 doors.

My friend picked one of these up, with navi, auto, etc for like $28k...a bit too steep for what it is, but to each his own.

He was telling me that his auto TSX gets better gas mileage than my manual 1.6l civic (32-35mpg)...I wasn't in the mood to argue with him, but I don't see how that's possible. Let me know what type of mileage you're hitting :)

Civic gets closer to 40... and TSX takes premium gas.

Well, some guys are claiming mid 30's highway, and one guy even low 40's.
I'm skeptical.
My Sentra gets 40 mpg without breaking a sweat, but it weighs 800 lbs less and has a much smaller engine.

I doubt he can do better than you in your Civic unless he drives like grandma and you like a Nascar driver.

lol, I still root for Nissan.
Just that I couldn't swing the extra $5k for a G35 and get low 20's gas mileage.
I did test drive it and it was pimp.

What? You mean the Legacy GT and a $20k Civic SI aren't classy? GASP! There are some in this thread who would have you believe that the Chrysler Sebring Convertible is the lap of luxry.

My commute to work is 40 miles each way.
Then I drive another 150 miles on the weekend, so it does add up for me.

Does the Legacy GT require premium?

Yep. My commute to school used to be 45 miles each day...my previous car got about 26ish and drank premium. I call it a draw considering the additional power and AWD.

I guess I bought the car to have fun. As long as I can get at least 25 highway its perfectly acceptable.

Your friend is full of bs. Even keeping it under 2500-3000 rpm at all times, even while on the highway won't net you 40mpg on a 2.4l engine.

OP, nice car, have fun with it.
