no, the hard part is finding a decent set at a decent price and then praying that the bolts don't bust off. I dunno how long its been since those bolts have seen the end of a wrench.

I looked them up on Parts America, Shocks are 20.99 x 2 for Rancho for the front, and 49.88 x 2 for Rancho for the back.

pic of truck on ramps

This past weekend my dad, my neighbor (who is a mechanic in the army), and myself replaced the clutch and put the truck back together again. For 2 years the transmission and driveshaft (and all their little bolts, nuts, and parts) have been sitting on the garage floor collecting dust and cobwebs.

Went today and got a 15 day temp license, stupid state computers where down. Also called up geico and got myself a basic plan so I can drive the truck around with little fear.

I say little fear because the front driver's shock busted before the truck went on ramps, so there is no shock there. Let me tell you, that is an interesting feeling, seeing as all of the rest of the shocks are basically wore out. so now I get to replace all 4 shocks ($225 installed) and I need to buy 4 new tires. The tires on it are good but one of the rear tires went flat and bald before it went on ramps and the other rear tire is going bald. My spare is a p215 and the tires currently on their are p205's. The standard size tire for the truck is p195. It was that way when I bought it.

That pic isn't big enough

that's what I think I am gonna do. the rancho's look nice, but I don't need that for this p/u. it's not 4wd so it really doesn't go out and find the holes, although I have done that before, just not places that I could get stuck. go in with 2wd and come out with 4wd, thats me motto. :D although I don't have the 4wd, so I am very careful.

I wouldn't mind having a 5 speed 318, I heard you could get that combo in a Dakota back in the day :D

You can get a 5 speed 360 in the more recent generation. (1998-2003ish Dakota R/T)

Are you sure? I've looked around and always found autos with the 360 , how rare are the 5 speeds? I've seen 5 speed recent dakotas, but I always thought they were V6s...

That being said, I'd love a 5 speed Dakota R/T :D
