Got my stuff in today....

Hi all. The fedex man left me a present today - my A64 3400+, KV8 Pro, and a gig of RAM. My KV8 Pro came with BIOS 13 installed on it, and has a 'fixed' option along with the dividers. When I crank up the bus speed, the PCI/AGP stay at 33/66. I am also running the HT bus at 1 GHz @ 16 bits with no apparent affect on the bus speed.

Unfortunately, when I boot into Windows, theCPU will only run at 721 MHz. Every once in a while it will run at 1.8 GHz though. I have tried everything I could think of from disabling/enabling Cool n Quiet, to reinstalling uGuru software. I am going to try formatting next - I am using the Windows XP that I installed on my Barton 2500+. I'll see if that fixes this and report back.

EDIT: I just found out there is a BIOS 14 out so I am going to try flashing to that before I format.

Glad to hear you got one of the working ones. I was going to pick one up before I heard of all the VIA AGP/PCI lock problems and the fact that they reduced the available vdimm from 3.2v to 2.8v. So I picked up a Chaintech VNF3-250 instead for $92. I look forward to hearing some good overclocking news though, so let us know.

I will keep everyone updated. I have been reading on Abit's forums how to fix the clock problem in Windows, so I am going to do that first. I don't think I will flash to a newer BIOS just yet considering this one works just fine....
