Got my replacement board, but it has a bent capacitor!

I have just received my replaceboard. The board that was defective was a MSI Pro2-A board. The same model was sent back, but there is a capacitor near the northbridge which has a bent capacitor, at which is at a 45degree angle. What should I do? Should I just use it? I really don't want to spend a a few bucks again just to ship it back... But will this cause the board to malfuction later on... So what would be the best course of action for this?

Bending doesn't hurt anything as long as the leads are still intact. I bend caps out of the way all the time.

Ah okay, thanks for the input. I could live with a bent capacitor as long as there wont be future problems. Just asking, as I don't want the capacitor to blow or anything :Q.

I got an MSI board the other day and it had a "can" floating around in the box... It took me until I put the board into the case and had everything ready to start until I noticed it laying there in the box still... I thought I was going to have to sent the thing back but I just found where it came from and carefully slid it back onto it's little wires and away she went! No worries at all. 😀

LOL. Thanks for the good laugh 😛.(POP, what's that sound I hear?... 🙂)

<< Just leave it alone, as long as the "can" is not dented or crushed, you have nothing to worry about. >>

Lets hope so 🙂

well if all it was , was just bent a little, thats fine, but it makes you wonder how it happened, if there was more damage to the board .. try it out for a couple days ( you should have like a 30day warranty on it or somethin eh? ) and see how it does .. good luck ..

i bought a turtle beach santa cruz and every component on it was bent in some random direction. so i took it to compusa and the dude let me open two other boxes, and they were bent up even worse. the box design just doens't work for that card. but the card works fine.
