getting a subwoofer in a week or two.
this is my first halfway decent system and i'm loving the little nuances I can hear in the sound now 🙂

Ditch that Panasonic for a Denon/HK/Klipsch receiver...then we'll talk. 😉

J/K mate!

I wish I was able to watch enough TV to make use of such quality equipment. 😀

If that is one of their digital amps, he is set.....😉 Those thigns are amazing

I'd recommend a Boston Acoustics sub...well, I'd probably go with all BA speakers if I had the cash.

I haven't been very satisifed from what I've experienced from yamaha subwoofers. Last I heard, JBLs were pretty nice for the buck.

As for what I have: I have an Athena psb-400 400watt peak 100watt rms 10'' sub I got for $320 shipped about a year ago. Fantastic for the price.

I'm getting aDayton 100watt 10" subwoofer

1. I have woofer about that size and they are fantastic.....what matters is that the enclosure is well made and sturdy so you'll get decent bass out of the ports

2. as for the sub, if you are going to get that, get a lot of insulators for it such as that Pink Panther crap or cotton. It will sound like crap otherwise. The payoff is RIDICULOUS though; It will sound liek a brand new sub and will blow your away..pretty true for msot subs give or take

huh? whre would I put that? All I was planning on doing was putting a piece of carpet underneath it as I have tile floors.

look it up..you put quite a bit in there....to harden it up and make the bass hit "tighter..basically, faster response and faster returns= better.

mcveigh,

The proper material for stuffing a subwoofer is polyfill. If you have a craft store or even a Wal-Mart nearby, they sell the stuff for a few bucks a bag. However, as I recall, the Dayton 10" subwoofer is of a ported design, so it may benefit very little with regards to stuffing. In essence, that sub is meant to breathe.

There was some mods that I did to a previous sub I had in the past that was vented. I picked up a large sheet of 1/2" thick polyfill and stapled it well to the insides of the cabinet.

I think you picked out some nice components for your system. It should bring you good sounds that you'll find quite enjoyable.
