Hi Blake :)

I didn't know they had 18" subs :Q

The biggest I've seen is 15"...and that's big.

I haven't even played around with it yet, I don't dare turn it on in the house... and I don't dare use it in the garage (might piss off the neighbors)

it weighs 166 pounds

/kicks my old E315's to the curb... :(:p

Nice to see that Cerwin Vega is doing good things after barely escaping bankruptcy in 2002 (IIRC)...

I worked for a band for a while, we had two of those things.... they're heavier than hell, you tip them back and they have wheels on them so you don't have to pick them up.

Those things definately put out a lot of bass.... they're absolutely awesome. You can stand in front of it and if
you have the right power amp hooked up to it with the bass coming through, you won't hear the bass
as much as you'll feel it, and you'll feel it right in your chest, right about where your sternum is.

What are you using it for Blake?

my mobile dj unit... I'm not getting enough from my 4 yamaha dj speakers, so I needed to add some real bass and I wanted to take some of the bass from the dj speakers so that more power could go towards the sound quality (high's and mediums) and have the cerwin vega take care of most of the bass.

I have a crown ce4000 to power it...

I recently worked for a band that had a pair of those, being a gear snob, (I despise most Mackie/Behringer/Alesis type gear)I was skeptical at first. It was in a room that I work pretty regularly, so I know the limitations of it. They worked pretty damm well, i gotta say. I was pretty impressed! They were powered with half of a a Crown MA-5002VZ, and were crossed at 75hz.
The only negative comment I had was the $899 pricetag, I though for that they could've got the Yorkville LS808's for less, and they're lighter and smaller.
Congrats on your new toys! Now go shake some walls! ;)

I can't wait to hook it up and play with it... although I don't dare hook it up in the house... too afraid something might happen with pictures falling down and what not.

I'll let you know about my approval rating when I test it out :)

well, all of my computers are working just fine...then again it was never plugged in or operating. It's in my basement, and I didn't know where else to put it and take the picture. My workspace is down there for a computer business... that's where I get most of my computer related work done.

LOL!! I forget sometimes about that! I sometimes bring the Laptop out to do Smaart (Acoustical Measurment Software), and it inevitably winds up being packed in the truck next to, or on a Speaker. It been fine so far, when I remember I always pull over and 'rescue' it! :Q

I think it's fine when the sub/big magnet speakers are off, but I'm sure if something that big was on...watch out.
