Took it to a third party shop (AVS, thanks for the tip, mloot, it does seem to be a trustworthy shop) to get it checked out while it was still in the dealer's 5 day no questions asked return policy, one of the owners took it for a test drive with me, went over the engine, then jacked it up and gave the undeside a thorough going over (all for free), and was impressed with the shape its in.

This car is fantastic. So much kit - its the cartier trim level. Smooth ride, not a sports car but plenty of passing power, found myself doing 90 thinking it was 70. It'll take a little getting used to but I'm falling in love.

Man, those full size Lincolns are awesome. Their shocks are so damn loose it feels like you're riding on a water bed. They're so spacious you can have an orgy in the back seat.

Nice lookin car!

My neighbors had one like that, and I always enjoyed riding in it. Hope yours serves you well.

i have a 1999 town car executive. my dad gave it to me when he bought his 2006 cartier.

lincolns... they are some friggen cars, huh? 🙂 🙂 🙂

That is because you have never driven one. They have always been nice cars. The 85 MK VII my dad had that I used to drive all the time was pure luxury for the time along with damned good power and good mileage. Plus, it was fun to drive. I actually miss that car.

Nice ride.

Best thing about those Town Cars is that if you invest in a set of decent gas shocks, you will still have a nice smooth ride, but the shocks can take a lot of the floatiness and corner lean out.

I bet what it doesn't have in looks is made up for in luxury.

To each their own - I love the look of it.

And I am planning on getting a haircut, I'm just lazy and haven't done it in a while.

About the rims - the wheels it has now are perfect for the car, not touching those.

My grandmother used to have a car like that years ago.. She has the newer model now..

I agree Lincold Town Cars are bad ass.

Very nice car. I have sat in one before and they are quite luxurious and feel very nice inside. It is very roomy and the car seems very solid.

It is a bit too big I think for my likes, but I do like sitting inside one.

If you wanna see a boat, thats nothing. You should see my car, 1965 Impala.

I cant decide if I should post pics or not.

I predict suspension and/or engine problems in the near future

I'm covered. The air shocks have been replaced recently (the suspension problem comes from the seals on this part going bad and leaking air, either depressurizing the system completely or overworking and thus damaging the compressor for the system). Biggest cause of engine failure is the all plastic intake manifold cracking and leaking coolant - covered here, too. This car has the newer manifold with the aluminum part where the coolant flows throw.
