Didn't realize you had to have Mac OSX 10.4+ (Tiger). I still have 10.3.9...I'm so pissed right now. :| I guess it's my fault for not reading, but why would they just clown their older users...I'm disappointed in Apple for that one. They could have at least released an update for the older version users.
 
Heh. This would be like Microsoft requiring everyone to upgrade to Vista to use the next Zune. Could you imagine the negative press that would generate?

Apple will somehow get away this, though. They can somehow can do no wrong!
 
I looked at all the new Ipods at bestbuy the other day. None of them caught my eye. I just don't like the looks of them, I prefer my compact nano.

Give me an 80GB HDD based iPod touch and I'd be all over it.

16GB? That's useless, and would force me to carry my 5G iPod with me as well just for music.

ipods (along with everything apple makes) are marketed with planned obsolescence. by the new year, you will see a large capacity ipod touch
 
thats pretty moronic of them to have done

the touch IMO has about 60 gigs too little space to be worth more then 1$

I actually WANT buttons on my MP3 player. My 2nd gen iPod nano is good enough for a while. Having to "double click" that home button just to have the skip/back buttons come up is not cool.

If by large capacity you mean 32 gigs sure but other than that no. There might not even be that, but probably so. It's flash so unless our technology jumps 4-5x in flash storage in the next 9 months then it won't be >32gb.

not really an aple hate session here but not supporting your OS that really isnt that old is pretty dumb, especially as it should just be seen as a removeable storage drive

my next MP3 player will prob be a 80 gig normal ipod, as much as i hate them unless something decent from someone else comes out its looks like thats it

i have a Iaudio x5L now but at 30 gigs its too small, i do like the bat life on it tho 30 hours FTW
