Got to go to a B&M store

I dont want to spend big bucks for interconnects

Of these, which to you think would have the lowest prices?

Circuit City
Best Buy
CompUSA
Radio Shack

???

Probably radio shack. Just run to Best Buy and get some Acoustic Research cables.

You can find some really good deals online if you look around.

Get Acoustic Research from BB. I found that my local Rat Shack's cables are expensive. Do you plan on routing everything into your reciever?

UPS is going to drop off my AVR430 tomorrow. I can't wait to plug this bad boy up.

The VCR composite will be going to the HDTV, but the audio and everything else will get routed throught the 630

I have a Yamaha c920 DVD-a player, so I need 6 cables for hooking up the surround output for the receiver

Will need a digital feed from the HDTV cable box for 5.1, and one for the DVD player as well.

Then I have two speakers with built in powered subs, so I will need to run a line, and split it to the LFE connections of each amp.

Ouch...that is going to cost a pretty penny if you go B&M.

Since you have such a new receiver, have you considered DIY cables, much like the link that Viper GTS specified? Quite honestly, those prices are a little high, but for someone trying to sell them commercially, they're just right...Vince Maskeeper on HTF is currently in the midst of making a batch of cables, and he charges a very minimal fee for his efforts. I have some leftover cabling from a long time ago, so I'm having him make make a 10 foot and 25 foot cable, terminated in RCAs, for a total of ~$35, including tech-flex and heatshrink.

If you have a lot of interconnects to buy, consider just buying the crimps and learning how to make your own, since it'll save you a lot of money in the long run, and the quality of cabling will be very very high. (I'll be doing that when I have to connect a DVD-A player and then an amp...that's a lot of interconnects)

Why? RS Gold Series are good, but you can do better for cheaper.

Personally I'm done buying interconnects, the next time I'm going to need interconnects I'll buy the tools (Canare tools = $$$) & stock cable/connectors to do it myself.

Since the HT crowd is ever growing on AT, what would you think about starting a little cable-making gig just like Vince is doing on HTF? If I knew that I could recoup the cost of the parts eventually, I'd buy the tools and offer to make cabling, as long as people aren't stuck on getting them by a specific date. Let's just go into business together Gregg...we'll call it ATOTHTF-cables.com 😉 😀

Actually, Sears sells AR cables, too.

I went to BB and got the AR cables. Not too bad pricewise, but I paid about 22 bucks for the 6 foot optical. I was then "helped" by the friendly BB salesman, who informed me the 60 dollar monster cable was superior because it transmitted better light. The cheap cable would color the light, and that would in turn color the sound. Imagine that.
