Got my Gainward Geforce4 Ti4600 today. Benches inside.

The most I could squeeze out of my old Gainward Geforce3 Ti500 was 8800 on 3dmark2001. Core 270 mem 600MHz.

At stock speed the Gainward Geforce4 Ti4600 I got 10500 on 3dmark2001. That was with the core at 300 mem at 650MHz.

Overclocking to 320 core and 750 mem I got a score of 11,000. I think the core is limiting here since I bumped up the RAM 100MHz over stock and only got another 500 points. The core does not like 330MHz. It runs for a few minutes and locks up. Sound like a heat problem. Time to upgrade the hsf.

Where did you get yours? Im looking for the Ti4400 since it's the only one in red, everywhere I've been it's not yet in stock.

Are you sure your stock core speed is 270? I thought all 4600's were 300/650 out of the box.

UnitedMicro is ETA 3.12.02 on the Ti4600, and ETA 3.21.02 on the Ti4400... so how did you get yours so quickly?

Preordered mine 2 weeks ago. The day it went on pricewatch. They got their first batch of them in on the 8th. Was originally supposed to be the 4th but it was delayed a couple days.

I see... did Gainward bundle any games? And also, why did Gainward choose to use two DVI-outs, instead of going with reference design's one DVI and one of those special VGA-outs?

It came with Serious Sam and a 3 port Fire Wire card. Not sure why they put the 2 DVI ports on it. It came with 2 adapters to convert DVI to the standard 15 pin connector.

I like the Visiontek just fine, I didnt choose the brand, it was what compusa had on the shelf, I bought it because a family member works there, with his discount it was $330.00 plus tax

Hmm. Let me think about it. I really can't see myself using 2 moitors. What would you use it for?

My card has one VGA and one DVI, I would use it to hook up a second VGA monitor on the DVI port.

I hate to say this... not to put a wrench in anyones plans... But Darrin, if you want to sell that card later, you'll have an easier time if you have all the parts for it...

NVidia wants to start making 2 monitors standard, so it might be something to consider...

Today I just told with the guy with .ATACOM for Gainward Geforce4 Ti4600, they told me that they have some in stock already. I just ordered one. Does anyone have any opinion for this card? I am so excited to wait for this card

Alright, the critical question is what games are close to release that will take advantage of the Geforce 4?

Unreal 2, Star wars galaxies, Doom 3... thats all I can think of. Anyone else know of some patches for current games or soon to be releases games that will make a Geforce 4 worth it?

Oh, I got 11000 in 3dmark, oh I think it is heat related, let upgrade the hsf now.
then the CPU will be the limiting factor...then maybe the planet Earth.
Gees, does someone need to bash you people with baseball bath to point out some things to you or elegantly eat parts of your brain.
When will you stop this 3dmark playing game, the stupid thing is absolutely pointless.

Quake, Unreal, Max Payne, etc etc. my friend can play on his Celeron 400 with TNT2. (800x600)

You can have fun playing a game at 1024x768 on Duron 800 with GF3 with everything turned on *(except for that pointless overrated FSAA thing)*
But nooo, everyone's too bored from playing the same games, because there aren't new games! but there is new hardware, so doing synthetic benchmarks and starring at the screen for the same sequence of sceens over and over is the best fun most of these "I want the best" people get... I feel sorry for some of you guys..

(this is to the whiners) ya see that's just what guys do....they like to tinker,fix,fiddle with and try and gain more power outa something. It's a penal thing

Some guys spend all their money on new hunting rifles, leases,camping equipment,and magazines about hunting. But most of the time they end up just setting around polishing their barrel

Same goes for guys who like to fish,play sports,watch football,drink with the buddies...........etc. So it comes down to the old saying, "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys"

So we set their hopping for a few more 3Dmark scores so we can howl at our buddies until the old lady,or girlfriend grabs your shoulder and gives you that "come hither" look........then the #dmark scores go out the window,then only your hard drive scores count (see above about penal thing)

So ya see its just all part of being a guy....and I love it Can't wait for my Gainward GF4 to get here
