Got my first speeding ticket...

Well, I did 49 mph in a 25 mph zone (construction) and I damn deserved ALL it!

Well, there was numerous complaints how people speed (I witnessed a possible head-on collision cuz this new M3 thought he was faster than another car in a 2 lane road)

Well, the Officer was nice enough to not throw me in jail since I didn't care my driver's license. I haven't been driving the last few days, so I didn't notice that I didn't have it with me.

Also, he didn't cite me for double fine since it was a construction zone.

Apparently, it was a speed trap for the day. They pulled over ANYBODY who was going 30+ mph. There was a caravan of cars lined up in the "to get a speeding ticket line." There was about 5-6 cars with 2 cops writing citations while the other officer was trying to do the radar gun, hold up the stop sign and direct the speeding car to the side.

I'm sorta glad I got this tickets so now, I will slow down in this area. (I always slow down in residential area, school zones and contruction zones in unfamiliar areas).

Funny thing, my mom told me before I left to SLOW DOWN since there are a lot of police in that one road. WHEN the officer was writing up the ticket, my mom drove up (we were going to the same destination, but in two cars) and nodded her head sideways.

Anyways, I learned my lesson and all is well. Time to go pay the fine 🙂

yup...i got a ticket. slowed down for about two months...now i drive faster than i ever did. (although like you i always slow down to 5mph over the limit in construction zones and residential areas). in school zones however i always go the speed limit or under. thats good it taught you a lesson...just hope you don't resort back to your old ways like i have. 😱

I did 85 in my SUV through a red light with a crosswalk in a school zone at 8 in the morning while dialing my cell phone, checking my hair, and changing the radio station.

🙂 😉

Well, that is the thing, there were no ppl working there...the part they did the check was toward the latter of the construction zone...

I had to do 20 mph for 3/4 of the way since there was one of those spray-the-ground-with-water trucks in front of me. After he made a right turn, I sped up.

I was already hitting the brakes when I saw the cops.

I was with a bud that went 145 through a construction zone one time. Much like Moses parting the Red Sea, those workers ran far off to either side of the road when they heard us coming. I know it was dangerous, could have killed somebody, yadda yadda yadda, but nothing happened and it is f@cking hilarious thinking back on it.

I once went through a school zone at 160 miles per hour and it had a similar effect. We then veered of into the playground and the kids were jumping out of the way. I know it was dangerous, could have killed somebody, yadda yadda yadda, but nothing happened and it is f@cking hilarious thinking back on

I'm afraid I'll get a ticket.. but I can't stop going faster than the limit. I'm always around 30 in residential, school, and construction zones.. 75-90 on the freeways..

A radar detector would have helped in that particular situation, unless they were using laser, in which case you would be screwed.....unless you actaully used your eyes and watched for cops....😀
