Plead not guilty and tie them up in their own paperwork. You end up paying no more than $95 even if you are found guilty, but can have your case dismissed if the cop doesn't show.

You're just plain STUPID if you don't plead not guilty. Just go to court and have them reduce your charges. Lower points/no points and fine. Trust me, you would rather waste time in court than spend hundreds to thousands of dollars later on when you pay your insurance.

Good man. However, there is nothing wrong about looking into a diversion program, a driver's safety class, or the possibility of doubling your fine to have the ticket ammended to a non-moving violation. Just don't waste your time challenging the ticket in court.

Try reading the whole thread, or at least the post claiming it's a parody a few posts up.

fighting the ticket is what I did, but ultimately it wasted so much of my time my organic chem grades got hit(had to go to court twice during finals week...grrrrrrr) =(
On the upshot I got the points reduced to 2 from 4, and took a defensive driving thing to knock those last 2 off my license...and my insurance hasn't gone up since so at least that's good.

That sucks:|. only 95 bucks, thats pretty cheap for a speeding ticket. My friend got a speedy ticket awhile back ago when he was going over 100 on the freeway and it cost him ~300 bucks. How exactly does a speeding ticket work? is it there a standard fine first, then a additional 20bucks for every mph over the speed limit?

Least you could do is show up in court and ask for a prayer for judgement or at the least a reduction. It's absolutely retarded not to do so unless it is in another state.
