What an amazing car. It's just the perfect compromise between size, comfort and performance. So much fun to drive. I had an e36 325i before this, and this is a hoot compared to it. Test drove an FR-S before purchasing this and this honestly feels like an equally solid and more fun to drive car - for about 1/10th the price. Reliable too - bought it in San Diego and drove it 500 miles up to the Bay Area without a hiccup.

In case you want to see it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111239597576?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Keeping it as it came except for swapping in some more supportive seats from the M3 /sport model.

If you have ever thought of purchasing an e30, they definitely live up to the hype. Best car ever made? Could be!

That looks amazingly clean for such an old car. It must be a blast to throw that around corners!

Wow. That's a steal at that price, if the photos do justice to it's true condition.

Congrats.

Nice car and a great deal. Old co-worker of mine had one almost exactly like that, he was very sad once he had to get rid of it due to rust from Chicago winters.

This is the biggest advantage of living in CA. Around here, a 1988 car means it will have more rust holes than the metal.

Beautiful car and a steal at the price you paid. I see nothing wrong except the clear coat peeling off on the roof but you could get it fixed at relatively cheap price. Since it is over 25 years old, do you need to get it smog tested?

Isn't it amazing that even after that many years the internals and externals do not look dated at all? Try to find a GM (or even a Honda) built in that era and you would know what I am talking about.

P.S. OP, please grab those photos off ebay and make them available where you control them. ebay will get rid of them now that auction is over. You will be glad when you look at them few years down the road.

Why? I'd rather be happy and live my dream than be bitter because I'll never have eleventy billion supercars.

Huge +1

It's a lot more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. And these people who have unrealistic dream cars live their life chasing the unattainable. I bet OP is much happier than someone putting around in a 350z wishing he had a lambo.

That is a great car. My uncle in Belarus had a 1985 320(I think, or 318) four door, then he bought a 1998 Honda Accord, but moved back to BMW with a 1996 320. Just recently, he upgraded to 2004 528i wagon. He has a much better car taste than my aunt's. She drives a Fiat Punto.

No. Its not.

Take it from someone with both a 130 HP Camry and a 700 HP 03 Cobra.

I assure you the Camry is NOT more fun.

It's a figure out speech.

There are plenty of people who would prefer to drive a suspension-modded miata over a 700hp anything.. Particularly a non-factory 700hp.

I've owned plenty of hi performance vehicles, and I greatly prefer closer to 10:1 power weight more than a dragster like your cobra.

I've owned vehicles faster than your cobra, so take that for what it's worth... ;)

Clearly the solution is a 700 HP Miata. Or E30 to stay on topic.

Why?

Because.

Some sweet bavarian cream puff. Nice find. One of the best handling cars I've ever had the pleasure of driving.
