you mail ordered your own corporal?

is this like the supervillains version of a mail order bride? did you request airholes in the packaging? I mean, even the marinecorps has airholes...

Indiana-Fill out state form, set up appointment for L1 solutions finger printing, go get fingerprints, give them money, take receipt to local PD, give them receipt and some more money and leave. In a few short days your license shows up in the mail.

Just wanted to say that I got my CPL in the mail today (I live in Michigan). WOOOOOT!

Probably gonna wait a little bit to see what type of carry option I want to use (shoulder harness, IWB, etc) and the gun I will use, but at least I can buy handguns now without a Permit to Purchase.

When I filled out the final paperwork, the guy said it could take 2-3 months to come but it's only been maybe a month or five weeks.

Sorry, just had to post, I'm pumped!

I would suggest not advertising that you have one. It defeats the purpose. My opinion of course! Do what you want..

eh not like having it really means jack. Out of the 15 or so guys i know who shoot guns only three of us actually carry and one of those guys is maybe 50% of the time.

In WA all you have to do is go to the local PD/Sheriffs, fill out paperwork, get finger printed, pay money (30 bucks?) then wait 4-6 weeks. Took about 20 minutes for me to do it all and that was with some crazy lady yelling about missing her bf's court date or some crap.

Cpl allows me to buy said weapons

Can buy them without one just have to wait 7 days or whatever it is.

We either need to apply for a purchase permit or have a Cpl.

No waiting period either way.

Weird never heard of that. Must just be your state. All you have ot do here is fill out the ATF form (that you have to do whether you have a cpl or not) and then wait your 7 days. Good to know though!

how long did it take?

When I got mine, it was something like 95 days from application til I got the postcard (back when they didn't mail them to you).

I'm game for a Silver Bullet meetup!
Ah I don't have the exact date I turned in the paperwork but it wasn't very long. Maybe six weeks or so?

Picking up all types of holsters seems like a good idea, didn't think of that. I was pretty set on IWB or shoulder but we'll see. I'll probably have to adjust my clothing a bit but we'll see. Suppose I can always use one type of carry method in the summer and another in the winter.

A lot to consider and a hell of a lot of responsibility, that's why I'm not running out and getting the stuff now. Plus I want to train (side step, draw, acquire, fire, and reloads, etc etc) much more even though I consider myself a pretty good shot and familiar with firearms.
