seriously though - it's not about being tough per se. sure you need courage and balls to approach the idiot who stole your bike but just the principle is enough to make someone's blood boil. if he gets away with it, he'll be laden with the bad karma and something will be stolen from him.

Have called the police. For all you know they have a record on him and could "persuade" him to walk away from the bike.

Either that or bash his fvcking brains in with a rock for stealing it.

What a pussy. 1st of all, should've registered the bike. 2nd, bring crowbar w/ you at all times. 3rd, come up behind the fvcker who stole your bike and take his fvcking fat head off w/ the crowbar. 4th, never leave bike at public places over night, I'd steal it too.

yeah, I second that. I did the most moronic thing in December. I was on my way home from the airport, picking up my fiancee, and got rear-ended going onto the onramp. The guy was in a big Dodge Ram, a newer one, and drove off really fast. I was like, what the crud?? and took off after him. I chased him for a couple miles at about 80mph, honking my horn and flashing my lights at him, and finally got him to pull over. It turned out to be an older guy, probably 50 or 60 with white hair. He claimed he didn't know he had hit me, just thought he had slipped on some snow or something. I checked my bumper and luckily it was just some paint scraped off (about 4" circle, no dents - yay for Saturns lol). I decided not to pursue it since we weren't hurt and I wanted to get home (had a candlight dinner waiting hehe). I got his driver's license and insurance and all that, however. I had just bought the car about a month before and I was kind of miffed. Luckily it was a '93 Saturn and not in perfect condition and since it was just paint and no dent I let it go.

that was one of the dumbest things I'd ever done. I had no idea if he was on drugs, if he was running from the cops, if he had a gun...I could have been killed for my stupidity. I didn't bother to think about what I was doing...I got hit, he drove off, I was like what the heck, and followed him.

good job on not confronting him...it's hard not to when you've got revenge on your mind. it's just a dumb bike, you can always buy another, but if you get hurt/crippled or killed, well, you have to live with that for the rest of your life.

Stop making up excuses for NOT getting your bike.

I wouldn't have confronted him straight up, but I wouldn't have just watched him walk away with it either.
