Got my AX-7 in today. Why is it dirty?

I noticed that when I got my ax-7 today that it is somewhat dirty. There are brown and greenish spots inbetween the fins. Will this affect performance, and should I just use rubbing alcohol to remove it? Is nailpolish remover safe? Thanks

Mine was like that as well, i tried using rubbing alchohol, didnt come off 🙁

Copper oxidizes to green. Ever see a copper statue that looks all green? Technically, the copper-oxide will not conduct heat as well as CU alone, but this little bit of oxidation will affect performance pretty minimal. To get rid of it, hit it with a little fine sandpaper--220,400 or so will get rid of it in a flash.

That is true, but the aluminum has the green on it, the copper is fine. I tried cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip but could only fit it in between some of the fins. Oh well, guess it will be ok. It just seems like if I'm gonna pay $30 for something than I want all that I can get out of it.
