Launchbar: A must... I wish there was something like this for windows!

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection: If you have a PC which is reachable through a network you may
find this tool handy. Alternatively you could also use VNC

Menumeters: System readouts in the menubar, I have mine configured to show current Network traffic.

OmniGrafflePro: Awesome diagramm tool!! Not free but absolutely worth the price!

iStumbler: If you have an Airport card in your machine this tool is very handy

If you want to dive into the world of open source Linux/Unix ports then Fink is your friend. There are some really neat proggies available through Fink. Easiest way to get started is to install Fink Commander.
