Well, my Opty rig is finally built (look in sig) and my 7800GT's in SLI are really nice. I have yet to do any OCing on the processor or ram. But with all defaults I get about 11,554 3dmarks in 05 :)

So is that good? Let me remind you I have done NO overclocking yet, so I expect to break 12,000.

Nice mobo. Update the drivers for your 7800GTs and start pushing that Opty. Good rig id say.

I need an Opty!!!

I think my Venice is holding me back! After seeing the scores you Opty folks are getting and after helping my neighbor build his Opty rig, I feel.... inadequate :)

BTW Wiz-

My friends comp that i helped him build is a 175 as well and he is pushing 2750 at 1.5v. Not the 3GHZ like the single cores are getting but dual-core... *drool*

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your Venice is still perfectly capable for gaming. In fact, as you can see here, an FX-57 and Sempron 2800+ perform the exact same at 1024x768 in FEAR (a resolution which, in the past, allowed the CPU to affect gaming performance). Similar results with COD2 as well.

As games become more demanding, the CPU is beginning to have less of an impact than it ever did before, with the GPU (and especially a multi-gpu setup) becoming more and more important.

Well with the rest of my system finally up to speed (260x10 on CPU and DDR520 on RAM) and with the GT's at stock 470/1100, I got 12,996 3dmarks. SO CLOSE to 13,000. A couple more mhz on the core and I figure I'm there. With OCing the rest of my system, my 3dmark05 score went up 1500 marks. Pretty good if you ask me.

Very nice score. The dual-core procs give a nice boost to 3DMark05 scores, especially with SLI.

Killer rig dude!

Now stop wasting time with 3dmark and start enjoying the power of SLI in games.

Thats not even max yet. I just have it at 2.6 with stock voltages beacuse (a) it was easy, and (b) it was for the mostpart stable, and (c) I wanted TO PLAY!!!
