I play Falcon 4.0 SP3, Il-2 Sturmovik, and BF1942. I don't have time to play more than that really

Just curious. How many pci-slots that card of yours covers so that they are unusable? By the pictures I guess 2....am I wrong? If it takes two, then it sucks. I need atleast 4 pci's and my mobo (ASUS A7V266-EX) has only 5 pci-slots.....maybe i'll go with Radeon 9700Pro when Ati's new cards come out and the "older ones" get a little cheaper...=)

The Zalman silent P4 HS coupled with a 5800 dustbuster is an interesting combo to say the least. Anyway, hope you are happy with it and can find a new HS to quiet it down. FWIW, my last 2 cards (GF3 and Ti4600) have been nV, but I wouldn't even consider a 5800 FX. Silly noisy HS, lower performance and IQ for more $$ than a 9700 Pro? I don't think so.

Yeah man. A Zalman Silent P4 HS + a Dustbuster kinda defeats the purpose. I'm on a mission to make my computer completely silent (Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu coming today, Antec TruePower380, low-RPM case fans intake/exhaust, and a new Zalman northbridge HS to replace my HSF combo also coming today).

Nice setup. I run mine similarly. I have a Zalman NB HS, Antec True330, (2) Panaflow L1A case fans (1 intake, 1 exhaust). This weekend, I'll be changing the stock Intel HS/F for an Alpha with another L1A. I'll also be dropping in a P4 2.4B C1 and shooting for 3GHz. The fan on my Ti4600 is pretty quiet. I can live with it.

Loud, yeah but it sounds manly.

:D

As long as it doesn't sound like a beast then I guess you're ok.

Oh, and Canadian beer is better than the Mexican stuff, IMHO. Corona is nice tho :)

Any chance you'd want to trade your GeforceFX 5800Ultra for my Radeon 9700 Pro + cash? Email me if interested. Thanks. :D

You need to add IL-2 Forgotten Battles to that list :p
How in the hell did you get Falcon 4.0 to work? I've always had problems trying to get that game working.

ATi drivers' superb quality, once again. . .and yes, I own a Radeon 9700 Pro myself. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

I traded some guy a card for it a few months back. I don't know. How much would you want in exchange?

BTW, I never overclocked this card. :)

I want one to play with But I'm gonna wait for NV35

I read some info on the NV35 over@NvNews
Our reader Lax was kind enough to translate and send in part of the article from chip.de's website. They mention some interesting stuff about the upcoming NV35 GPU.
NV35:
256 Bit Memory Bus
500MHz DDR I (Effective 1000MHz)
500MHz GPU
Low noise cooling solution (Different from NV30)

Here is the translation:

While running a quick benchmark in Quake3, 1600x1200, 4XAA and 8xAF it got 111 FPS, compared to a GeForce FX Ti5800 Ultra that got 48 FPS. However both chips were clocked at 250MHz because it was still a prototype, and they wanted to make an exact comparision to the NV30. So basically both were set to 250 in order to make a fair benchmark.

^ I read that as well, a 100%+ increase in AA/AF performance over NV30 sounds good to me :) Can't wait to hear more official news from bigger sites soon.

Oh my :Q, reading that was like going through that BMW Z4 commercial. :Q

It might be more than 100%, as performance might not scale linearly with NV30. 2x the clockspeed might give it the cycles and bandwidth to fully stretch its legs. Definitely a poor decision by nV to go with DDR-II and a 128-bit bus over DDR and a 256-bit bus if they knew they couldn't have both (due to memory controller limitations).

quit raining on his parade, the fx is a GOOD card, face it. maybe it isnt the best deal, but that doesnt stop it from being a high-performance card...

Of course, that's his opinion. He could be wrong.

;)

Well, all the reviews for BOTH games seem to back that up 100% Hell, even on these forums it's apparent:

UNREAL 2 - Utter and complete crap!

I like UT more than HL, yet there are a ton of people I know who are just the opposite. I could give a hoot. (Btw, I think U2 is great, but again that's just me).

Besides, does anyone really care what Ebert and Roeper's opinions are on how good a movie is? I experience movies and games before I ask the opinion of someone else. That's just me though.

sweeet :D though still they are using Quake3, an game from the stoneage

now I wish both ATI and nVidia would just slow down and start doing 12 month product cycles, the speed jumps are just getting too big, I want programers to catch up and actually use the power the cards bought last year have
